Instructor-In-Training Bruce Smith "9mm4545" took a short break from his 'vacation' to Front Sight to visit with Cpt. Terry Turner on WNZF's "The Southern Sportsman" show. He speaks at great length about Appleseed, and illustrates how best to work a radio show.
You can download an .mp3 of the show by right-clicking the following link and clicking 'save as'. Standard click on the link will bring up the file in your browser. The interview begins at 29 minutes in.

Good job Bruce!
Very well done!
So, who's next? Hundreds of home-town radio shows, hundreds of people who have attended an event...
If you've attended an event, and liked it, consider this part of your home work: You must call your local radio show and get on the air. Call in advance, schedule an interview- most of these small town radio shows are hurting for stories, and Appleseed makes a great special interest story.
10, 15, or 30 minutes of your time could help save the nation. Is a phone call too much to ask? For Liberty? For our Posterity?

I wish that were true for Chicago radio stations. Could not get them to or even tease them to be interested in Appleseed.
We tried repeatedly during the Waterman 300 and to no avail. The day will come when they come to us.
Next target I have my sights on is ARMED AMERICA RADIO http://armedamericanradio.org/ (http://armedamericanradio.org/)
If any one has a lead, contact or inside trac with these folks by all means engage the target and make it happen.
These are good guys and could help our program.
Best regards,
CM

Always shooting at targets that have been hit before? >:D http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=14480.0
Been there, done that. Great show, awesome host. I regularly listen via podcast. When you call Mark, you'll first talk to Sean, the executive producer. Both are great guys, and are truly supportive of Project Appleseed.
Still waiting to hear about Appleseed on Rush...
Way to go Bruce!
Eric, I need to work on getting Mark to an event.
Bruce,
That was perfect. I don't think that could be improved in any way.
Well done, sir!

I have to say that my expectations were not too high that anything would come of the interview. Like, I had never heard of the program, the host, or the station. (I was completely uninformed!)
Well, to my surprise, at the last AS event I worked (Bunnell, FL), a young lady said that she came to hear of the program by listening to the broadcast and decided to come check it out. She brought her son and she was not intending to shoot, but the infectious enthusiasm just caught up with her and before long, they were both having a blast. Ya never know where a seed will sprout...
