Title: TEA Party Convention...Who's coming?
Post by: dart67eb on January 13, 2011, 12:27:35 PM
I just want to get an idea of how many Appleseeders plan to attend.  There is a really good list of speakers and there will be more.  Why?  Pajamas TV will be doing a PPV of the event.  They expect to sell @30k.  They will also do a straw poll of the R presidential candidates.  At an event with a straw poll, the candidate that packs the house with their own supporters usually wins.  This time, it will be a much larger sampling so it would behoove anybody thinking of running to be present.  Besides, think of how nice it would be to meet our fellow Appleseeders in person!

I'd love to but $255.00 worth of registration cuts too far into the ammo budget.  :)  Priorities you know. LOL
Ahh... to have an unlimited supply of disposable income.

Word of Caution

For those of you planning to attend the Tea Party convention in Memphis:

I live in Atlanta and conduct business throughout the Southeast.  I am sorry to say that among us Southerners, Memphis is considered a very rough and dangerous city.  This message is not to discourage, but to encourage caution.

My Advice for Travel in Memphis
1.   Travel together
2.   Know where you are
3.   Know where you are going
4.   Do NOT stay in cheap motels
5.   Know who is at the door before you open it.
6.   Tennessee is concealed carry friendly. You can find the Tennessee reciprocity and concealed carry laws here:

I am sorry to say that my wife and I have colleagues who have been killed in Memphis by not following the above advice.

Have fun and be safe.
