i was thinking of picking some up but wondered if anybody had any luck with them?
need to be weight sorted, can vary by 3 gr or more, got as well as 2 moa at 500 yds
These projectiles are made for reloading .308 and work fine for such...
They are not specifically designed for 30.06 because the boattail leaves less projectile contact surface with the neck of the brass. You can seat the OAL shorter, but this can have accuracy problems arise... (Added Pressure, longer jump to the lands, ETC.)
And they MAY be magnetic, which in CA is not allowed to be used at most ranges as fire danger from sparks. I know they are Bi-metallic, and not steel core, but the ranges here will not take a chance... If it attracts a magnet, it cannot be used.
BUT, the cost of the 147 FMJ BT projos is a good deal. $266 shipped for 2,000 projectiles. That's 13.3 cents each, shipped!

You should use the flat base projectiles for 30.06 reloading.

Magnetic ammo rules vary throughout California, check the rules at the range where you shoot. Know the rules, follow the rules.
That is why I said
MAY be magnetic, and
MOST ranges....
I know how to be non-commital... except when it comes to Appleseed!

checked them - not magnetic
I buy them 2000 at a time and use them in my LRB M14, both FALs, and my Garand. They shoot fine. I'm sure they'll shoot better than the Appleseed standard. I've just never shot them in a rifle with anything but Iron sights so I'm not sure how well they'll group.
They appear to be as good as any 145-147 grain US ball bullet I've run into.

Loaded up another 200 rounds of 30-06 last night with these bullets. Love 'em. Have about 4000 of them on hand, but with an RBC coming, that par level is bound to suffer.

I've ran several hundred through my FAL flawlessly. Getting under 2MOA groups now that I have a scope(eyes went south). For the money, with the shipping included, they are hard to beat. Managed to work a load up that is slightly less in velocity than mil-surp ammo, but way less on the pressure signs, probably due to the fact that I don't crimp them as hard. For precision shooting, I use Sierra 155gr Palma Match bullets.
My wooden nickle...
Similar positive experiences here. Shot great with the FAL, haven't tried them in the M1A as of yet, but I expect similar results. O0
is everyone weight sorting to get good results or did I get an unlucky batch with the big variance
Just finished up loading another 300 rounds of 308 for the RBC with these bullets...about 5 minutes ago. Beer-30 now. Who knew you could fit 400 rounds of 308 ball in a 30 cal ammo can? Tight fit, but they'll go.
I don't weight sort the 145's. I've weighed a dozen or so and they were all within 1 grain +/- of nominal.
I used sort 50 BMG Amax's. I'm past that. Wind calls at distance will give you more variation than these bullets will out of an iron-sighted rifle.
If you want precision, stick with Scenars, Matchkings, or Nosler Comps.

with the weight sorted I got 2 moa 10 rds 40 seconds at 500 yds off the bipod, premium projectiles will double the total cost of the round and only give a little better performance
