Title: 27 question test - HELP
Post by: TruTenacity on December 22, 2010, 04:41:04 PM
I just received an RWVA e-mail in which a gentleman writes:

QuoteLadies & Gentlemen;

Could you please forward me a copy of the 27 question test in which a national sample of American adults scored an average of 44%?

I would like to see how I score on this test.

I am also considering attending the April 16-17 session in D/FW Texas...but I'm interested in knowing how much -- or how little -- I know about my US History.

Many thanks

Does anyone know what he's talking about?

If anyone has the test please post it here.

Thanks.

TT

He may have confused us with this organization:
http://www.americancivicliteracy.org/resources/quiz.aspx (http://www.americancivicliteracy.org/resources/quiz.aspx)

It's a 33 question test, but this sounds like what he is referring to... still not AS.

    You guys!  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

You should read the RWVA Appleseed Home Page once in while ;D - and while there, check out http://www.appleseedinfo.org/appleseed-mission.html, specifically, the report cited about half-way down the page, which is located at http://www.americanrevolutioncenter.org/sites/default/files/ARCv27_web.pdf

Disturbing! If these figures are correct... Then again what type of person takes this quiz?

Someone just gave me the job of reading the Instructor manual and Shoot Boss manual to find an answer to a different question.  Once I was done with that reading I might have had time to read elsewhere to find even more answers to questions.

I went the easy route this time and asked for a fish.  Fred the helpful comes through again!

Thanks, Sir!

Taking this test is a little like shooting your 1st AQT! I thought I was a rifleman, but.............. :-[
I though I knew Revolutionary War History, but ...... :-[

I passed, but I was given a lesson in humility in the process! :)

That was kind of my point. The people on this forum should/will do well, and yes it makes our representatives look bad. But what will the average pop culture United States citizen score? I'd hate to speculate, and honestly, I don't even want to know. It just pushes the point harder, we have a lot of work to do to wake the sleeping United States citizen.

87% for me, lol and all my conservative friends tell me that I don't know real history.
Justin, I agree. The sheeple of this country need to wake up. If they leave their governance to "radicals" like me who knows what could happen.....

Would have been 32, but I couldn't remove my own personal bias from question #30......

Yikes, what a test  :wb:  ~~:)

IF I'd of shut up and just listened to the voice in my head instead of 'the voices', I wouldn't of talked myself out of #26 and so missed one.....once you have your NPOA trust it  ..:..

I would speculate the results were the evidence of being 'older' and thus having a different type of education....we were expected to know this kind of thing....and I have always loved to read.

P.S. Is there a patch for this too  **)  ^:)^  **)  ^:)^

I admit I have not read that carefully  before.  Now that I have, I would like to suggest a change in wording to correct the math on the page.  Instead of:

QuoteEighty-three percent of surveyed adults scored an average of forty-four percent - a failing score.

I would suggest:

QuoteThe vast majority of surveyed adults failed the test.

because if the average is 44%, then that includes the 83% who failed as well as the 17% who passed, which means that the average of the 83% who failed must be less than 44%.  In fact, if you do the math, then it cannot be any higher than 40%.  Yikes!  :o

To whom should I send a PM with this suggestion?

I think that this thread has skewed their averages... Jan avg has been raised to 70%!  Personally, I scored 85%.   :wall:

I shouldn't have rushed it.  This is good company, hope you'll let me stick around anyway.    ???
