Another superb Las Cruces Appleseed!
BlueFeather has asked me to post this so here goes:
This one was New Mexico's first all women's Appleseed.
Lady Liberty was proud as this was truly a day "where marksmanship met history and the heritage began."
John Adams said: "Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom.
I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it."
I'm positive John Adams is pleased with all our nationwide efforts to remember and honor.
Driving thru the Old Mesilla pecan orchards. The cold desert air gives way as the warm sun rises.

The long cold shadows of December yield to the New Mexican sun and warms the flags of our Founders.

New Mexico's first Ladyseed was also held on the same weekend as the Toys for Tots shoot, sponsored in part by the USMC.
Women arrived from distant places in our state such as, Albuquerque, Animas and Carlsbad. Two of the shooters were from right here in Las Cruces.
This is the view all visitors/shooters passed on the way to the various shooting events held that weekend at the Butterfield Shooting Range.

Meanwhile on the other side, BlueFeather and JerryHall discuss the morning's plan for this historic first New Mexico Ladyseed.

Prep period before stage 4 of the AQT. "How many rounds on each of the 4 targets?"
"How many NPOA shifts on stage 4?" "Remember, stage 4 counts double!"

Students shoot Stage 2 of the AQT in the sitting position.
"Fire by the numbers at the Rifleman's Cadance and don't forget your NPOA shift!" "Don't move that forward elbow during the mag change!"

Ball and Dummy Drill.
Shooters detected and cured any shooting problems while the instructors watched for additional items.
A great way to get introduced to teaching.

Scoring AQT's. A rifleman is more than someone who can just shoot well.
It is that spirit that persists despite adversity. These women had both these qualities.

"Thank" them we did...in spades. To remember them is to honor them.
We told about the history of these brave Americans and how they let nothing stand between them and success.
We are constantly amazed at the generosity of our people, the diversity of our culture and the gorgeous scenery.
It was an honor to work with everyone!
Thanks!
Just spectacular!!! ^:)^
Congrats to New Mexico on their first (of many, I hope) Ladyseeds!! O0 O0 O0
Janelle
What beautiful pictures!! Breath taking sunrise!!!
Thanks TG! Nicely done, as always.
Thanks to BlueFeather, TaosGlock and Jerry for a great day of shooting and inspiring stories of the Revolution. I had a super time with you and the other shooters---thought for sure the other E. would get her patch. Next time!

The other E should be ready to earn a riflemans patch soon since she gets reminded 5 out of 7 days a week to practice her positions and her skills by dry firing. ~~:) She has been given 10' dry firing targets and will be getting live fire practice starting this week (This is what happens when you share an office with an IIT >:D )
NM sunrises and sunsets, they are one of the things that make me stop what I'm doing for 10 minutes so I can reflect on the fact that it's good to be alive.
Gideon
Thanks for bumping this Gideon and tell Erica to persist. She is nearly there. O0
DiselPwrd, keep at it as well. You will do great in the Pecos Run & Gun! :~
