Title: AAR Dec 11/12 Annapolis, MD
Post by: BeSwift on December 13, 2010, 04:21:47 PM
Maryland's first Winterseed...

It seems the cold weather was a good omen, in that our line was at FULL capacity. 1-2 no-shows were gladly replaced by walk-ons! 17 shooters Sat, 16 Sunday... Sat was cold, but fair weather, and Sunday was warmer, but a full blown monsoon after lunch...

The good news... 6 shooters earned Rifleman status! High score was 242 by a Marine from the mid-west...We also had one youngster (maybe 10 yrs old?) who earned his patch with a 210!   Lots of family/kid combos who stuck it out thru the entire class..bad weather and all... I'll ask IIT3 Cheeks to post some pics...(only the flattering ones, please  LOL)...

Congrats to  Instructors/ IIT's  Sashok.Privetov who qualified for Red Hat, Cheeks for IIT3, and Red Hat BD who's volunteered for SBIT

We're going to start referring to them as ANAPPLESEEDS....lol...

Old Glory must be doing a heck of a job in the Midwest, if she's sending students out here to show us how it's done...

Thanks to all the instructors for their hard work!  The weather was not the best, but my 2 boys (10, 12) really enjoyed the shooting and the classes.  Sean was, of course, happy with his 210.  Tim wanted to achieve rifleman so badly, but had to settle for 209.  A little better weather and a few less malfunctions, and he will have it for sure next time.  Thanks again to the instructors...for the boys to sit thru the rain all day on Sun and still say that they had a good time...that is a monumental accomplishment!

We will be doing another Appleseed next year for sure...just have to decide...spring in MD or fall in WI...or both?

Stay vigilant,
