Title: AAR Smithville, TX Dec 4-5
Post by: LabRat on December 08, 2010, 11:34:38 AM
A really fine event at a fine location. Thanks to all the shooters who showed up and stuck with it throughout the weekend and some changing weather (though nothing that would qualify for a Winterseed). Thanks also to range owner Dave Rosenfield of Sanborn Shooters for hosting us for a first event with hopefully more to follow. A big thank you to my fellow instructors, who kept the SBIT on his toes and on course and made for a successful shoot.

The younger generation was well represented at the shoot, including the 6 ladies of the Capo family, one of whom, Amelia, shot an impressive 220 on the AQT, humbling us all with her comment (paraphrasing) "You mean not everyone can shoot this well?"  O0 Teresa and Peter brought their respective kids and they seemed to have a great time.

Plenty of malfunction clearance drills and without those, I suspect there would be several more knocking on the door, but, stop me if you've heard this one before...a rifleman persists!

Congrats to our new riflemen: Amelia as mentioned previously, Don, Kenneth and Vincent who all scored well into the 220s.

great shoot; hope we can do it again, as I have the other twin son to bring next time.
in the first pic, the big guy standing is Don, who qualified on Sat.
in the next pic, the two guys nearest the camera qualified Sunday (sorry, forgot your name)
the rest are the usual suspects,,,,,, ~~:  ~~:)
