Only LLP can give the long involved history of all your time in AS, and you have to listen, and hope it really is you

the complete line, on Sunday, more instructors than shooters.

Who'da figured, y'know..... >:( #) ++)

The fact they seemed to think it was amusing to shoot past their own vehicles was kind of funny in itself, but I have less than any respect for their "trainers" abilities.... &) %)

We do not recommend this course to any of our students at all.....while we don't go into deliberately "smearing" any other organizations in discussions (Mama always said: "Can't say nuthin' nice, keep ya trap shut..."), the students themselves noticed and called attention to the apparent lack of any safety consideration......

Which means they are -learning-.....from us. O0 :)

I like that.... 8)

While this was a rather last minute deal with Cal-Guns, it was a great intro of AS to this organization, whom we will be working more with in the future....... O0 @) @@) ..:..
More on this link up in the coming year...... :) 8)

Yeah.....Santa & his elfs.......I think the Idaho gals did a pretty good job of that...... @) ;) O0

Well done, gentlemen.

Ken, congratulations!!  Wasn't all that long ago you were still garbed in Orange.  Although, back before I made Rifleman, you were such an absurdly knowledgeable Orange Hat that I didn't think I'd ever measure up...

Penny'sDad, congratulations, and welcome aboard!

Quote from: CSHR on December 08, 2010, 07:07:20 PMI was standing by my car and noticed the instructor from the range next to us march out and set up his shotgun students at the end of their fencing. There is about 50 yards separating us, and a berm that is even with the back of our 'easy up'. They'd have to turn to point at us, but I'm a nervous kind of guy.

are they aware they're behind us  ++)

Yeah, that'll get your attention...  Stay safe, everyone!

Yeppers....those Idaho gals make much better looking elve(s) than "ol' CSHR" :) ;) ;D.....

We should have a separate thread for just this subject, and get -everyone- in the country involved, eh?? ;D :)) O0 **) %) ^:)^

Wow, I new that the 'Idaho Gals' were vertically challenged, but Elves, and Santa's Elves at that? :o  Wow!  Talk about a hidden talent.  Making toys for Santa?  I had no idea!  Sheesh.  You really need to tell me things, you know. &) :cool2: @) **)
That's really why Evenstar wants to get her RH, so she can match the hat color of her fellow elf, Western Rose, and the hat of her boss Santa. ;D

While we're on the topic, are there any other Elves or Elf things I should know about, within AS?  There's probably a secret inner-circle of Elf Instructors, that none of us non-elves know about, though.

BTW, WR, for the record, IMO, Elves are better than Dwarfs. :)

Ho Ho ho!! ;D ;D ;D

GF, you must know that elves (or elfs, depending) are mythical critters, and must keep their identities hidden......like leprechauns (oh, yeah....more elf stuff....)  :)) O0 **) **)

Most, but not all, choose to assume the appearance of "short" people.....vertically challenged, etc..... ;)

However, any discerning eye will be able to tell who the elves are, because they are always busy, doing the hidden background kind of work that must be done for any organization to prosper & grow...... O0

We are indeed lucky to have a small contingent of them here helping Fred..... O0  O0

Perhaps....can't tell ya tho'......if we did, then we'd have to have you "smurfed", which is a whole 'nother thing..... **) **) **) :))

I really can't say about elf vs midget....kinda like Ford/Chevy, 9mm/40S&W, pirates/ninjas.....y'know? ::) **) @@)
I have my personal opinion on that, but that's just me....... ;D :)) **)

True, I should have know, being that certainly are vertically challenged and they CERTAINLY ARE always busy with behind the scenes work, keeping AS afloat.  I was thinking of elves as guys with long flowing blond hair, have the eyes of hawks and eagles, shoot bows (not rifles) with deadly accuracy and speed, all the while protecting the bearer of a little round gold thing that says 'One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.' ::) :D

Ya' know know what?  Maybe what this Nation needs is to take a field trip to the N. Pole, take a look at how Santa runs things with his totally rockin' Elves, and then go back and implement those techniques into how THIS Country operates. ::)
So, thanks to the all the Elves (or leprechauns, dwarfs, fairies, etc. ;D) out there, specifically the 2 that I know, them 'Idaho Gals', that are helping Project Appleseed; without them and anyone else in the inner-circle of Elves that I don't know about, this program would sink too.. :cool2: ^:)^ O0 ..:..

Merry Christmas!

GF,
I believe you understand better than most..... O0
altho', what the elves look like can be misleading, as they are very talented with disguises..... @) :)) ;)
The whole ring thing was "acting" like it was centered on an object (the ring), when in reality, it centered around what the folks have in their hearts.....kind of like what we do here.....-that- is what's important....what folks have in their hearts......all the rest is just smoke, mirrors, fog machines, and disguises..... :)

Just so you know, not all the mail I get is "good mail"....sometimes I get stuff like this......

This kid has -no clue- as to what I'm gonna put in his stocking!! &) &) &)

He just doesn't know who he's messing with!! >:(

Merry Christmas!!

Looking forward to reading about this on the cal-guns website .
Good job setting it up .
BTW Cal shooters --- Calguns.net has lots of topics related to everything of interest to the Ca.gun owner.

If you need a name to register -- you can be recommended by "Wolfmans Dad"

Hmmmm, we've been "switched".....wonder how that happened??..??..??

Anyhow, this was a "special shoot", put on for the CAL-GUNS.net folks locally, and while attendance was a bit lower than they anticipated, I'm not disturbed by it....the folks that needed to get a feel for what AS is about were there, and can now add their voices to their forum to get more of their folks out to listen to the "where we came from", which in turn will help them with their "where we're going".......

Kudos indeed for Jacob...he has been to 4 AS's now, and after realizing that "iron deficient eyes" really do need help in seeing small objects, brought his optics out on his 795....from a plateau of 190's, to a Sunday 1st AQT of 213, which steadily progressed on to a 228, he showed that yes, his SHF's & 6 steps were "doing just fine, thank you!!"....he still holds his personal goal as being able to do it with his open irons, cuz it -is- important to him, but for now, putting on his orange hat, and moving things forward were more important than his "shooting"....... O0  O0

I'd say he "gets it"!! O0 O0 O0

The weather, which had been "threatening" most of the weekend, finally decided to have it's way just as we finished loading the vehicles on Sunday evening, so with a short "C-Ya next weekend", we left the range for a week......
We're back there again this weekend, with about 30 some odd shooters pre-regged, for another sunny SoCal December AS......weatherman says it'll be gorgeous.......

Heh! So, how was your weekend?
