It's on.
This is the planning area where we will post things YOU need to know. Mostly this is here for myself, West, and Bill 3 to work on. Every instructor planning to attend must do the following before May.
1) You must instruct/work at three or more Appleseeds between now and then, prior to attending.
2) You should have re-qualified as a Rifleman between now and then.
3) You must have 260 rounds for your center fire rifle, good rounds, proven rounds, rounds that you know will function in your rifle.
4) You must have at least a 25 yard zero for your center fire rifle, and have it recorded.
I will start a list here of those who have re-qualified as Rifleman since the announcement went out in November. We will also be posting tools for you, such as range cards, data pages, etc. Use them, they will help you to know your rifle.

The list is growing, Indiana has some fine instructors, who can shoot to boot!
If you have done so, please send your score and the date you re-qualified. Your name must be on this list to attend shoot. You can re-qualify at any distance and with any rifle, and you need not be a Indiana instructor to attend.

when you going to start doing Appleseed as pre deployment training for those thousands of troops passing through Atterbury every year?

We have been trying to break in. Do you have any connections that we might be able to help us? If so, contact Hawkhavn, I know he has been trying on this but without much success so far.
Any help you can give, or directions to point would be greatly appreciated! O0
Units from all over the country cycle through Camp Atterbury on their way to the Shooting war in the GWOT. Reserve, NG, and Regular Army. And other branches of the military.
About 5 years ago, during the State Championship matches, a Commander of a Oregon National Guard infantry unit and some members of his staff wandered onto KD5 where we were shooting the 500 yard slow fire stage. This commander was insistant that his troops have the ability to engage and defeat enemies at distances beyond 300 yards. A true warrior intersted in getting his troops the skills needed to survive on the battlefield. If he had an ego, it was buried deep in him.
We offered whatever assistance we could on the spot to him and his NCO's. But we were frustrated in our ability to truly give our brothers and sisters the skillls that they might truly need to defend themselves and to defeat our enemies on the battlefield.
I don't know how we can make an impact and help the troops cycling through the Camp since it is the individual unit commanders who decide what their troops need for training and what they will do. The Camp staff is only interested in running the camp.
