Post by: Jet Set on December 02, 2010, 12:08:52 AM
Hello Everyone,

The details on this celebration are below.  It could be a great place to find supporters of liberty, as well as to take part in a great celebration.  I'm not able to attend unfortunately.   If someone does, it would be great if you could arrive early and place Appleseed fliers on the chairs and tables.  I've copied information from the facebook page about it.  You must rsvp at http://billofrightsday.us/

Celebrate Bill of Rights Day
...You are invited to a

Celebration of The Bill of Rights "All of the Bill of Rights for all of the people."

Wednesday, December 15th, 5:00pm - 9:00pm
at the historic Wrigley Mansion, Phoenix, AZ

Join us this day for the 219th anniversary of the day the Bill of Rights was ratified.

Join people nationwide who will break bread with their neighbors, and as a group read the Bill of Rights, out loud, as we celebrate our founding document, a document like no other.
Please indicate if additional guests will be joining you.
You will receive a confirmation email with directions and more details.

We are honored to have as our

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

Gary Johnson,
former governor of New Mexico; honorary chairman, Our America Initiative; and potential 2012 presidential candidate,

and

Bob Levy,
Chairman, The CATO Institute; and author, The Dirty Dozen: How Twelve Supreme Court Cases Radically Expanded Government and Eroded Freedom

We will read the original Bill of Rights out loud from a parchment copy,
and then jointly discuss its health in town-hall style.
Is it working? Are our rights intact? What are the threats to the precious rights we hold dear? What are the prospects for the future?

This is the ninth year in a row that Arizonans have gathered to recognize and honor one of the most important documents ever created.

A similar do is on tap for Tucson - same night - here's the cut-n-paste:

-------
In Tucson, AzCDL is hosting an event at Delectable's Restaurant, 533 N. 4th Avenue, Tucson, starting at 7 PM.
The cost is $15 (plus tax) and includes a light meal of beef stew, corn bread, apple cobbler and hot cider.
Again, seating is limited and reservations are required.  Call (520) 884-9289 to make your reservations.
At Delectable's the open carrying of firearms is welcomed (no alcohol will be served).

We will read The Bill of Rights out loud from parchment, And then discuss its health, town-hall style.
Is it working? Are our rights intact?  What are the threats to it?  What are its prospects for the future?
