I'll get this started so others can chime in and add to the fun.
This was another fantastic Appleseed weekend in NY (I seem to open all of my AARs this way, don't I...).
Saturday was supposed to be the colder of the two days. To be sure it was chilly (as it is supposed to be in upstate NY during late November), but not as bad as I had anticipated.
I believe we had 23 shooters on Saturday (JW can address the 'hard' numbers in his IAAR) and 10 instructors, half of them RHIs. There was a great collection of talent and knowledge on the line.
Nick (a.k.a. Josey Wales) did a fabulous job as ramrod of his first Appleseed as SB. I know he wasn't totally pleased, but the whole event went along without a hitch and no one left unhappy - in my opinion, that is complete success!
Sunday was the colder of the two days, and the cold prevailed throughout the day. However, there were many Americans who were more concerned with saving a nation than with their own personal comfort who came to shoot and learn despite the weather. This was a great group of shooters, eager to learn and apply what we taught them, and the improvement in skills throughout the weekend is witness to this. In all there were five Rifleman; and we added two new instructors to our ranks, with a promise from two others that they would take the orange hat at a later date.
I didn't get any pictures, and I don't think Krisker did either. However, I know there are many from the event that will be posted here. So now I'll step aside and give others a chance to add their comments.
Thanks to EVERYONE for a truly inspiring and rewarding weekend!

I would worry if a new SBIT were totally happy with his first shoots. We do plan it one way, and it takes a few under the belt to realize that the shooters, and all your crew thought whatever happened you were on top of it -- and a bit to cultivate that calm sure confidence that although the Time Monkey maybe visiting, and the groups are still too large, that you are happy and want to share it. O0
LATER: And he has already posted the IAAR form, and will fill it in as soon as he counts the number of free, paid, gender, age, status and and and.... a fine shoot boss no doubt. ^:)^

Appleseed, where good people come together
Thanks to everyone for allowing me to be part of the shoot.
Awesome 2 days in Lake George. Got my Pink hat. Surprised I weathered so well. Hope to make it to another winter shoot. I've come to the conclusion, no one is going to give me my Rifleman patch just because I'm married to B9, I've got to apply what all of you have taught so well. Thanks Josey ~~:) and all the instruc. for your hard work. O0
Spartan, "Do you have my money?" Hooah!!
Another great Appleseed. The weather stayed dry, and much fun was had by all. I want to thank everybody for a great job running the show, and thanks to all that were pulling for me to patch. It worked! I'll be looking forward to working with all of you when I take an orange hat in the spring. I hope that I can do the program justice as all of you do currently.
Mr Josey Wales
You can be Happy with a shoot,, but,, I know you,, You won't ever be satisfied with every shoot,,, I don't think any of us can,, There is always things to learn and improve upon,,, I learn something new from every shoot I work at,, From this AAR and our conversation today,, You did a fine Job My Friend,,,
It is nice to see Alan Standing there with Patch in hand,, Nice Job Sir,, very well deserved,,,
There was by far an Incredible amount of experience on the Instructor Line-up,,, What a shoot to be at forsure,,,
Congratulations to all for a Fine Safe Shoot,,, What a way to kick off the winter in Upstate New York,,,
Would really like to hear more on the Deer story,,, Sounds like a good one,,
sgtrock
SGT Rock,
I used my fine marksmanship skills and my fine English weapon to get the Deer. It was a very large Deer about 160-170 pounds and took two of us to drag it off. The incident occured coming back from the saturday night instructor meeting and dinner. The parts for the old Land Rover are on order and it will be fully mission capable again shortly.
After all it is Deer season here in NY,,, I sure hope you were able to keep some of the meat or was it too damaged, from the English Weaponry,, that is a pretty stout vehicle you have there,,,
Glad to hear you were not banged up any,,,
sgtrock
Yes dear. Uploading the pictures dear...

It was a most enjoyable event. The weather was perfect (for this time of year) as expected. I had done the Sunday at the Leyden shoot earlier in the month as a warm up (cool down?) and was a little bit prepared, although it was good to have those indoor, warm, instruction and history sessions. The instructors and shooters were as always top notch and it's always great to see old friends and meet new ones.
Saturday had a nice shooting pace and made acclimating to the chill in the air somewhat easier and gave me an opportunity to settle into my shooter's state of mind (is that the bubble I have so much trouble maintaining?). Sunday was another fine morning and also a moderate pace of drills, but after lunch the AQTs where at a near ferocious pace; reality. It brought out my best scores yet; an old friend once said 'adversity facilitates growth'
Sgt Rock thanks for the high five, it means a lot to me coming from you.
I also found time to shoot some photos also.
I don't know if anyone noticed, but it usually takes me little time to get things done.
The long weekend has given me a bit of a break, so I was finally able to put together some photos and sit down and write this.
