Title: To my Brothers in Arms! May you have a blessed Veteran's Day!
Post by: Stimey on November 11, 2010, 02:37:33 AM
This may be self-serving, but I would like to acknowledge those among us whom I have had the pleasure to know as fellow Appleseed Instructors who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.  This is not an all-inclusive list, but I want to know that those here listed are my friends and should be recognized as giving of themselves on behalf of their Nation.

Flathead - USA
Scout - USA
boltgun71 - USA
Heavy-Cav - USA
Hawkeye - USA
wildman - USA
oldgrunt - USA
alonso1 - USA
ashrn03 - USA
SGTCap - USA
Mogget - USA

And, of course, Doug in Texas - USMC

I'm thinking of you all on this day, hoping you are all well and wishing you the blessings of Liberty that you have sacrificed to preserve.  To any I have forgotten, my most profound apologies.  To all others whom I have yet the privilege to meet, my prayers and best wishes.  For those, I invite my fellow Appleseeders to include their names here.

Stimey, my brother, we thank you as well.
Those of us who did not have the honor of military service can express our thanks to all of you who did on this fine day, and to all of those who did but, did not  come home.
God Bless You All.

I have nothing to add to that list.  All I have to off is my deepest heartfelt 'Thank You' for all that you have done in the past, what are doing right now, and what you will continue to do in the future, for the next generation now, and for Posterity to come.  Your service to this great Country in the Armed Forces is now being reflected in your service to this great Country in Project Appleseed.
'Thank You' just doesn't seem like enough to say, but it's all I have.

Stimey,

Thank you for starting this.

I too add my thanks, not only to all the vets but to their families as well. They have given the time away from the vet, and sometimes more when the loved one never returned, or did so wounded.

More for the list:

From CA:

Johhny Appleseed- USMC
Hollywood Marine- ahhhh lemme guess....USMC
and I'm pretty sure Double D, my apologies for not knowing which branch.

From NM:

Thanks also to my mother who spent '43-'45 in USN!

I will you all the peace you were there for.

Thank you VERY much Veterans!

I'd also like to add, I am blunted by the numbers of former servicemen that have chosen to become the part of this Instructor circle that we all share as RWVA Instructors.

Percentage wise, in my mind, the best Instructors, are Veterans.

I wish the best for you and your families.

THANK YOU for your service in guarding our Republic and the principles for which it stands.

Brett out.
