Title: CPR/AED/First Aid class @ BF AIBC is a GO
Post by: nyrasgt on November 05, 2010, 04:12:33 PM
Attendees to Burlington Flats' first ever AIBC will also have opportunity to take a CPR/AED/First Aid class for $10 or less instead of the usual $50-$100...a great benefit open to attendees as well as BF club members...will be outstanding, pumping them Rescusi-Annies...

Will there be another CPR/AED/First Aid class scheduled besides this one? I will not be attending this AIBC because I'm not an IIT (IIT3's or higher for this AIBC) but I do want to take the CPR/AED/First Aid class.

Troops,
At the polite and reasonable request of instructors way smarter and more experienced than I (nearly everyone), will reschedule discount CPR/AED/First Aid training for AS instructors for a time other than the inaugural AIBC @ BF...makes sense to me, and we will get it done; just not on the weekend of 4-5 December.
  Stay tuned; film at eleven.
Also - what kind of instructor interest is out there for a $90 NRA Cert Instructor class (Fri night, Sat, Sun in Jan, '11-would involve live firing) taught by an NRA Training Counselor (not me, thank god), in the Glens Falls/Lake George area - plan is to have one Rifle class and one pistol class, so RSVP interest (for both-either-only Rifle, etc...).  Thanks, and

Guys,
I'm a shooter down on Long Island and I attended my first appleseed a few months ago at Calverton. I will definitely be attending the shoot this coming weekend also at calverton as well.

I know there was some interest in possibly getting some folks: Instructors, shooters, family, friends whoever certified in CPR/HS/AED and or first aid.

I asked around about any interest about possibly doing this a few months ago, and also got in touch with KDan reagarding any interest that may be out there.

As my way of giving back to this great group, I would be happy to offer to volunteer my services to teach a class or classes in the same manner. Which is roughly a 90-95% discount. Literally all I ask is the 10-15 or so dollars  that the AHA requires to cover the cost of your certification cards and reference books.

If there is any interest I would be happy to teach and get whoever is interested certified in Heartsaver/AED as well as any additional training that is desired. HS/AED covers CPR for the adult and child, AED use, choking, drowning, signs and Symptoms of a Stroke, all the proper precautions including Compression only CPR and scene Safety, as well as the Good Samaritan law as defined by NYS. I am also more than happy to expand the class and go over Anything from basic first aid, trauma, Pediatric Emergencies, possible Range safety incidents etc.

I am also both a BLS as well as ACLS Instructor/ACLS experienced Provider and Pediatric ALS  provider, so I am more than happy to get anyone who needs bls for work or otherwise recertified as well.

I have full access to all training materials including adult child and infant manequins, Aed trainers, training material, pocket face masks, BVM's etc. etc.

So like I sad if there is any interest either among the training cadre at Appleseed or just any local LI shooters please contact me and we can try to put something together. It will probably take place somewhere in Nassau or perhaps CAlverton as that's where I live and go to school.
