Just thought I'd get a place started here so people could start to post if they wanted.
The RBC was really good! Many red and orange hats on and off the line, excellent KD instructory (VAshooter and jmdavis). Thank you for taking the time to help us all progress in our KD skills. Many nuggets of wisdom gleaned on the KD range.
The students were determined, attentive and persistent! True Riflemen in attitude!
Congrats to the Riflemen who shot expert this week! Derek, Jason, Taylor, sorry, I didn't write down all the names. :'( You all did an awesome job! O0 O0 (next time make 211 lol) **)
Jungle George, Thursday and Pappy kept the group interested in RW history and all did a superb job! Well done!!
DwayneH did a exemplary job of instructing the group in first aid for gunshot wounds. Very important information to have even if we never need to us it.
The Guy held the audience in rapt attention as he gave interesting history of warfare techniques up through the ages. Many people were writing down the names of books to purchase after that instruction.
The night shoot was a great time! Got to see how many types of pistols and rifles identify themselves, or not, through their muzzle flashes and how to reduce the flash. Thanks, Dinky, for the impressive demonstration. Pappy's demonstration and marksmanship of the "big gun" received many Oohhhs and Ahhhhssss!!! from the crowd. Truly a crowd pleaser!! Got to see a brown bess perform at night and we liked it so well we bought it!!! Thanks Ty!!!
We're glad we attended the RBC and plan to "keep comin' back" in the future.
Thanks to everyone who helped make it a success. O0 ;D
Patriot Gal
Sounds like a blast as always! Wish I could have been there :-[
Thank you Patriot Gal, and it was great to meet you. It's always like a Holiday to go to Boot Camp. I get to see familiar faces from Boot Camps gone by and make new friends to look forward to seeing next year. As usual everyone was so helpful, seems I always need tech. support. Thanks to Pappy, TK and EEL for helping me with triggers, scopes and AR trouble.
Thanks to Smle for giving me a GIBBS and thanks to The Guy for keeping everyone inspired.
Here are a few pics...

JG, Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here are the files I mentioned during the KD instruction. They are both pdf files.
Use this first document to measure the width of your front sight. This is a tool commonly used at RBC's made up by JB which I digitized. It should be posted at 25m.
http://modweptest.clanservers.com/frontsightmike.pdf (http://modweptest.clanservers.com/frontsightmike.pdf)
The second file is a data page to use when shooting. It will help you track conditions, ammunition and help you to know your rifle better.

The front site pic gets printed at 100% size, correct?
Yes, Print at 100% but check it. When I print it it measures 1" at the bottom and 3 at the top (ie. 4 moa and 12 moa). We've used these as part of the KD POI at Ramseur RBC's for a few years.I found a gif file of this on the old forums, sized it to print correctly, and saved as a pdf.

Thanks. Once I printed it, I realized I was making it way more complicated than it needed to be.
(see second picture in Reply #2 from Dug'in)
Do my eyes deceive me, or IS GUY WEARING A NEW SHOOTING JACKET?!?!?!?! :o Who managed to convince him to get rid of that old nasty piece of junk...er....excuse me, I mean that old shooting jacket? They must have been very strong in the force to pull off a mind-trick like that. :))
Thanks everyone, It was a long trail to redhat but most rewarding. I had a lot of help from many instructors, I wish some of them that was at the bootcamp last year could have been there, but alass the trails do not always cross at the right time. We got a lot of new ITT's as I watched them I thought it is going to be good to watch them grow into a redhat, and the instruction continues on.
Goldfish don't be fooled by Guys jacket he just painted it for the bootcamp and said it looks good and it works.
Jungle George
Well Done to Jungle George & Thursday, Mo gets TWO new red hats O0 O0 O0 You fellows have earned them... Pappy
Thanks every one for your warm congratulations I am truly proud to wear the red hat. Thanks to every one who helped to get me to this point, funny thing is I came away from boot camp thinking about how much more I need to learn, over whelming, but in a good way.
Now about that curse Long Shot put on my hat....
Hello everyone,
This is my third attempt to post these. I am sorry for the delay. I guess my file size was too big so I had to re-size them. Its been a very busy couple of weeks so it took me awhile to get to it.
I live in the suburbs of Chicago. The sound of traffic and aircraft is what I hear out my window. Dark skies with the sounds of coyotes, owls, and live stock at night, Rifle fire by day. It was like the soundtrack from a good John Wayne movie. It was Osage Beach RBC campgrounds!!! The Osage RBC was a great experience. If you have not gone at least once you need to put one of these on your schedule. I am still talking about all the great things we did. First-aid and Strategy seminars were much appreciated. I had a great time meeting everyone I have been hearing about. Not a bad Apple in the bunch. Congrats to Jungle George and Thursday. And to all the new riflemen. Well deserved.
I took over sixty pictures to try and get a few good ones. It did not work out very well. Better luck next time.
Greetings all. It just occurred to me I was supposed to post a link to that Family That Shoots Together shirt.
