Title: Nine Mile Falls AAR Sept 25-26
Post by: actineon on September 27, 2010, 02:40:32 AM
We had our first ever Appleseed at Nine Mile Falls. Lots of new shooters. Great perseverance and teachable shooters. It was a pleasure. A couple of instructors shot Rifleman scores and two brothers reached 208. Oh, so close! (You'll make it soon. O0) Best of all, lots of good improvement and progress.

I'm looking forward to the official photos. Coming soon.

Friends,

I was very positively impressed with the tenacity of the shooters. Many of them were either new or relatively new to shooting and/or the concept of rifle marksmanship. I was genuinely impressed with those who really stuck it out and continued to make incremental improvement in their skills. These are the sort of folks who really get the concept that 'A Rifleman persists', and will ultimately succeed in gaining the Rifleman patch as well as the character qualities of a Rifleman.

It was a pleasure working with all of you shooters, and I would urge you to simply continue on the path you have begun. A good number of you are within striking distance of the patch, and the rest all showed marked improvement during the weekend. Keep it up, and we'll look forward to seeing you at another shoot soon.

It is always a pleasure to work with this group of instructors who complement each other to such a high degree. A special thanks to one of our newer IIT's, Scott, who signed up late but really helped out in a significant way on the line.

Best regards to you all,
Reformed Redneck

Shooters,

It was a genuine pleasure working with all of you on Saturday. I wish I could have been present on Sunday to witness the further improvement.   As a group, you showed and maintained the best attitude I have seen all year.  I didn't encounter a single grumpy shooter!  WAY TO GO!  Thanks for making this shoot a good one.

Remember a Rifleman persists, so I hope to see many of you again at the upcoming Coeur d'Alene (Fernan Range) shoots.  Thanks again for making this a fun shoot.

Persist away,
EERT

Over all, the shoot went off pretty well. A big thank you to the landowner for allowing us to use his property to teach American Heritage and Marksmanship.

As others already mentioned, all the shooters took big steps of improvement, and several were knocking on the door with scores in the 190's and lower 200's (like that pair of 208's!).

One particularly fun aspect of this shoot was two little girls (cousins) on the line. Well behaved, safe, and happy, they stuck it out for most of both days. It was priceless to see their thrilled responses when they asked for their AQTs to be checked and turned up with matching scores.

Thanks to all the shooters who showed up. Come on back and bring some friends!

P.S. Pictures will follow once my computer cooperates. ;D ;)

I am glad I was of assistance and not just getting in the way!

I second or third what was said so far. Big thanks to the Landowner for allowing us use of his property and doing the mowing. Shooters took instruction so well. I think I heard a thank you from almost everyone when helping them even during the course of fires. Thanks for the good memories and I will see you all again soon.
