The reporter for this story attended the Eleanor, WV shoot last weekend.

Thanks for posting this jmdavis; I just read the article and then saw you already posted the link.  O0

Overall, it portrays an accurate and positive tone about our program. Apparently the reporter was paying attention to the history presentations.  :)

The one thing that was omitted, which would have been a nice boost for the entire WV program, was a mention that we have been holding shoots here since 2009 and are now hosting events throughout the state. The Appleseed name was mentioned in a state newspaper with a large circulation, along with the national website link...we'll gladly take that.

This is a really positive article.  Great picture, too.

We must definitely send thanks to the reporter on this one.   ..:..

Rusty did write a good and honest article about what he saw, heard, and experienced. He did a great job.

The 4-year-old in the picture for the article has got to be the youngest Appleseeder ever.  Someone posted a sarcastic comment on the Gazette website a few hours ago regarding the photo; at least I'm pretty sure they meant it to be sarcastic.

That young lad stuck it out for 2 days in 90+ degree heat...a real trooper

What a great Sunday this is turning out to be! What we used to call "a twofer" - two great articles in major newspapers (at least, state level) about Appleseed - both pretty well done.

Thanks to the guys in WV who made it happen!!

BTW, as pointed out in http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=16620.msg135689;topicseen#msg135689 the on-line version can make quite a different impression from the actual article in the actual paper.

Would it be possible for someone to scan the actual version and post it here? (Or PM it to scuzzy for posting?)

Here's some more good stuff, not major media but still good reviews:

ITS Tactical: (maybe put on latest news?)

Older Review from end of 2009, detailed with good suggestions: (latest news?)

OldHippie.com -A Texas site, yeah, hippies in Texas are nothing like the Kali ones, back in the 70's we still liked guns, beer, and fighting, and didn't spit on servicemen -  or we'd kick your posterior. (not for latest news but I checked it out just to see what they would say, they like it)

My favorite - a newly minted American from Italy goes to an Appleseed. Immigrants like that I have absolutely no problem with. This guy is more of an American than many born here. He's on the forum under 'New American'

I have the printversion of the Charleston article ... way too large for me to scan. The web version is very representative of the print version. The print article is on page 7 of the sports section due to coverage of a distance run and statewide Harley and Corvette conventions this weekend. The color picture of 4yr old Garin is above the fold and 12"X12". The whole article is full page with the Headline "Target shoot plants the seeds of civic duty". A smaller pic in the paper shows the shooting line with yours truly out of focus on the far end shooting the whole AQT in standing (169) LOL
