Title: Checkin in
Post by: jeep45238 on September 02, 2010, 10:48:26 PM
Just checking in and saying hello.

I know it's been a while since I've been on a line and helping to spread some of that Appleseed Magic - and trust me, the selfishness in me WANTS to be there BADLY.

I started a new job on the 28th of last month after looking since November of last year, and having no luck beyond a 8 hour/week job since February.  It goes without saying that it is very hard to make ends meet, even with help from your family, and attempting to get out of debt at the same time.  Combine that when I found out that I had a hernia upon attempted enlistment to the Air Force, and having to pay for that surgery, well, I needed to find a job, and was lucky enough to find one working at a restaurant in a Casino in Indiana.

Unfortunately, this job is mostly a night job (closing shift) and has me working on the weekends into the foreseeable future.  And though I'm much better situated fiscally, I just haven't gotten any free time to go to an AS  :sos:  Taking on vehicular side jobs to get out of debt sooner sure doesn't give me any more free time, but it sure is helping out.

Come November, I should be able to bid on a new shift, and hopefully one that doesn't have me working every weekend.  I hope that I'll be able to join a line as soon as I can, so far I haven't found anybody that's willing to swap shifts and work my weekends (they're missing out, I keep tellin 'em  ++) ).

Just letting ya'll know that I haven't forgotten, I just haven't been able to find any freetime on a weekend yet  >:(

Thanks for the update, man.  We've all been missing ya but definitely understand your situation.

I know for a fact you're hard at work furthering Appleseed in other ways.  The hard work is done when away from the range the other 28 days of the month.  We appreciate you jumping in on Facebook, forums, and I'm sure with everyone you meet to talk up the program. Thanks for that!

Keep doing what you need to do and we'll see you back on the line whenever you're able.    O0

Good to hear from you again Jeep.  I'm glad to hear that you finally got a job and that things are lookin' better for you financially now.  Keep pluggin' away for AS and helping that way, even if you can't get to work shoots for a while.
Know that I'm thinking about and praying for ya'.

I wanna check in too. Jeep and I have been in a similar situation and out of the AS game for a while but the good news is he and I will both be able to car pool to an event together in just a few short months (and maybe even with Dry Fire as well - but guys, I'm Driving!!!) .

I'd like everyone to know we may not be out there in the public eye like we once were, but we're still dedicated to the AS cause and will be back shortly. We're still here on the forum and we even meet up locally every now and then to shoot the breeze. If any of you ever pass through this way, definitely let us know. We'll put our meager earnings together and sit around the BBQ table discussing the finer things in life.

Keep up the good work, Ohio, and as always..... HUZZAH!!!!

Glad to hear progress is being made in the financial dept. That evil word "work" tends to get in the way of a lot of our projects. But as we all know it beats the alternative,"unemployed".
I for one will be glad to have you all back out here again since you are so close to that KY. border.  ;)
