Everything went smoothly at this event. With a one on one instructor shooter ratio we had a lot of one on one time with the shooters Shane, Roy and young Logan. During ball and dummy we still had Shane and Roy prep each other's rifle.

Roy was knocking on the door with a 206 by the time we ended on Saturday. Roy was really impressive. He was someone who had shot for years, but had a very open mind as to what we presented and then immediately applied it. It was nice to seem him rewarded for his efforts.

Shane really improved throughout the weekend and always had good attitude. I think him for bringing his two canopies as well. I've got to give him credit for getting away for the weekend with a newborn at home.

We had the opportunity to go to KD on Sunday, but the two adult shooters wanted to continue on the range we were at. I think the canopies might have been a factor in their decision.

Steve Struve was a gracious host as always. We were allowed to stay in a bunkhouse which kept costs down and driving to a minimum. Next event I hope we stay at the bunkhouse on Friday evening.

Saturday photos:

Behind a slow truck and wrong turn on my part put us at the range at about 8:10AM.

Roy's last AQT Saturday was a 206. Roy's End of Saturday Redcoat - not bad at all!

After AS was over for Saturday, range owner Steve led us to the bunkhouse where we would stay the night. He showed us a unique type of AK as well.

Sunday morning CaptG called the line:

(http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/6702/img7969p.jpg) (http://img401.imageshack.us/i/img7969p.jpg/)

Roy and Shane were back for more.

CaptG and Joe demo sitting/kneeling once more:
(http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/1018/img7972nx.jpg) (http://img199.imageshack.us/i/img7972nx.jpg/)

I prep before proving to Logan that the rifle he is using is accurate. ;)
(http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7711/img7973u.jpg) (http://img716.imageshack.us/i/img7973u.jpg/)

Strangely, after that Logan's shooting began to improve. I made as much time for one on one instruction for Logan as I could. First his safety glasses were in the way of his sights and he was shooting without seeing the sights. Fixed that. Eventually I just had him stay in prone and shoot with the rifle rested on my pack. By Sunday, his groups began to tighten up and he actually seemed to start getting it. When he produced a score of 40 on Stage 2 (still no transition and still supported), I granted him his often, often repeated weekend request - 8 rounds of M2 ball through my M1. I thought he'd either run away screaming or love it. He absolutely loved it.

(http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/958/img7981.jpg) (http://img341.imageshack.us/i/img7981.jpg/)

Roy was close to out of ammo, so I sold him enough to finish his last centerfire AQT. After that, he used my LTR while I joined in the last Redcoat of the day.

I forgot to thank Joe and Steve for not giving us a raincheck since only 2 shooters showed up.
That shows alot of dedication and character on their part that shouldn't be overlooked.

Oh, and Pop, I just ordered 1000  69 gr Sierra Matchkings so when I get done reloading I'll be back to find out if it really was a 'miracle'  O0
