This was another great Appleseed in Piru. The weather was unbelievable, 85°, humidity about 65% and no wind to speak of! A rare day in Piru! We had 4 shooters on Saturday, Dianne, Kitty, Christine and Quentin. Most had never fired a rifle before. Diane is a retired teacher and knew here history well; she shared stories that there is hope that some of what happened April 19th 1775 is still taught in school! We started a little late, but had rounds going down range by 10:30. We had the help of V, Sespe and Trebleshooter from Las Vegas who was in the area and came by to help. Christine who had never fired a rifle before was shooting groups that could be covered by a quarter and impresses every one with here attitude and cheerfulness. Kitty and Diane were soon shooting groups and we were onto AQT's after learning sitting and prone transitions
History was well received by the group. And we finished in an hour and 10 minutes. That helped to get us back on schedule.
Sunday we had one returning student Christine who improved here scores on the AQT in to the 160 range. It was a short day since she needed to leave at lunch time. Thanks to Hollywood Marine for coming by and helping out. No pictures this time since the shoot boss forgot his camera!
Great job Dano and staff O0

No-one who's been to Piru before would have believed the weather. I've never had a more attentive, more interested group of students. Sunday morning, I shot the first redcoat next to Christine on the line. I dropped one at 400, she dropped one at 300. And at the end of the day, somebody cleared their redcoat. (Hint, it wasn't me...)
And I forgot my camera, too. :-[
Can you believe, four shooters, three never shot before, and three cross dominant!
And the best redcoat on Sat morning was a never shot before cross dominant shooting with the wrong eye.
A small but fun group of shooters, I enjoyed it.
Cheers
Phil
Had a blast guys!
Thanks for having us. And congrats Christine on clearing the redcoat, don't see too many of those.
See you guys later!
