Another one to consider is Millerton Gun Club. I used to shoot there in the 60's. My POC there is now dead and gone, but definitely remembered. None other than John Dewey. Yes, the John Dewey of Dewey cleaning rods name. He was very much into Bench Rest, we used to compete there in a winter league and occasional summer shoot. This is where Nickle cut his teeth in the Bench Rest competition game.

Might want to try contacting Dave Brennan (from CT) from Precision Shooting Magazine. http://www.precisionshooting.com/ (http://www.precisionshooting.com/) 860-645-8776 He might remember me, so tell him Roger Farnsworth (Ira's son if he doesn't remember the 13 year old shooting Heavy Varmint class back then) sent you.

Millerton - Millerton Gun Club, PO Box 720, Millerton, NY 12546.
Phone: 518 789-9618
Facilities include: Outdoor Pistol (20, 50 ft), Outdoor Rifle (50,100,170yds), Trap, Airgun
Range Access: Private

Dutchess Pistol assn is  just that...just pistols. No rifle at all. So you can take them off the list. I know someone from New Paltz.

Great nyhunter ... you secured a range in Walden and now have a lead to work on arranging a range in New Paltz  ^:)^

Could you send a PM to Another D.O.M. and B9 (Appleseed NY coordinators) and connect them to your person in New Paltz.
They could followup with them going forward.

Saugerties would be a more ideal location (half way between Albany and Walden) but New Paltz is great too.  :)

After that, all we need is a location just West of the Catskills.
Anyone know anybody in Margaretville/Roxbury area who belongs to a hunting/gun club?
.

!G/Kr et. al.,
Will reach out to two of my uncles, both ex-Navy Seabees, 1 WWI Pacific, 1 post-war.  1 in Phoenicia, 1 in town of Andes just outside of Margaretville.  Will advise what they come up with; I need to follow up on RC Sportsman's - Ravena, Iroquois R&G-Rotterdam, Wilton R&G off Exit 15 of Nway, and Galway F&GC on Rt. 29 outsidee Saratoga.
In all cases, will advise.
See kDan looking for IITs for BF in Jan - also should get word out to Vt/NH/Mass IITs - as well as about the March IBC @ DB - going to Fort Ticonderoga this time - ready to lead us, crak?
Excelsior,

Andes.  Now there's a name I haven't heard in a few years.  Certainly fits the description of west of Catskill - beautiful country there, and snowshoe friendly this time of year.

Every little bit is a step in the right direction.

Ft. Ti doesn't open for the season 'till mid-May.  The surrounding grounds may be accessible though...
