Title: Fresno, CA Jul 31-Aug 1
Post by: DesertDog on August 02, 2010, 03:57:21 PM
Once again, great time with great people.  We started Sat morning with 6 shooters and 4 Instructors.

The shooters did a great job of absorbing and implememting the intruction we presented. On the day's AQT, Chris shot a 195,  Sabrina a 198 and Jon a 203.  Unfortunately Sabrina and Jon weren't able to make it back on Sun to get those last few points.  Out of the 6 shooters, everyone was a 200 or 300 yd shooter with 2 head shots.  Including Josh who had never shot before.

Sunday brought back Chris with his wife, Monica, and son Cody.  Josh finished out our group.

We did a review of Sat and onto the AQT grind.  Chris broke through with a 218 O0 :~. Monica and Cody made improvements and were persistant.  Josh struggled with equipment issues all day, but marched forward and showed the Rifleman's Spirit.  Cody earned the Luther Blanchard award.

It was real hot this weekend, over 100 both days.  I want to commend the shooters and instructors for perservering and sticking with it.

Thanks to JamesE, Romeo's Hero, DoubleD and Furrowfoot for comomg out to make the weekend a success.

Yes, it was a hot day, but we all shared in the history and marksmanship lessons.  The shooters learned and persisted, despite the weather and various equipment problems.  After all, they are Appleseed Shooters.

Desert Dog & JamesE, thank you for traveling to Fresno to run this AS.
