Third time event at the Big Sioux Rifle and Pistol Club. Excellent facilities! Thanks to the club and Chuck (the club pres) for having us back.
We had ten shooters on Saturday. Three were 10 years old or younger, improving over the weekend thanks to the steadfast efforts of Bobbi, South Dakota's newest IIT, centered in the Yankton/Rosebud area! One shooter hadn't fired a rifle in many years and came to begin to learn again. 4 minute groups by the end of the day. A second-shooter and his friend shot on Saturday, knocking in the 190s on the final AQT of the day. Three guys from the Watertown area were shooting well by the time of AQT at the end of the day.
We lost about half our shooters on Sunday, 5 on the line. The young ones stayed and worked hard to qualify, and John came very close. Bobbi and I have decided it would be worth figuring out how to fit rifles for smaller bodies. The Watertown guys stayed, working on qualifying. I think both of them hit 200 at some point on Sunday. They'll back back for their patches!
Thanks for coming out folks. Spread the word; South Dakota has a lot of rifle shooters that need to have an appleseed experience.
Welcome aboard Bobbi !
Huzza!
Way to go South Dakota!
Thanks for stepping up Bobbi!
I'll see you on the trail!
