Title: Amarillo, TX June 5-6
Post by: Reddot on June 08, 2010, 10:47:28 AM
I guess I'll get this started; Saturday dawned clear and cool with 14 Americans off the couch and learning the history.  Scout started with a great presentation of the First Strike, followed by safety rules.  First round down range was about 10:30 firing up a Red Coat target.
As the day continued, the heat came up but all of the shooters hung tough.  By the last Red Coat on Saturday we saw a lot of improvement.
Sunday saw 8 hard core Americans back, showing Rifleman persistence pursuing additional skills.  We shot thru several AQTs and finished up with shooting at the 100 meter line.
While we didn't have any Riflemen, we had several that were close and all of the shooters were showing improvement.
Thanks to Tom for his great boots on the ground efforts to make it easy for Scout and I to fall in on.
And a special thanks to all the shooters for coming out and doing their best.  It was a GREAT WEEKEND!

Amen, Reddot!  Although my clan only made it for Saturday, we all had a great time.  My co-worker (first Appleseed) lamented he missed the third strike.  He will be back with others.
And thanks for your and Scout and Tom's work.  I told Scout, every instructor I've met so far is top-of-the-line, salt-of-the-earth, excellent folks.
Looking forward to our next one.
Heretic.

Thanks to Scout and the Amarillo gang. O0  My husband and I had a lot of fun and learned some new skills to practice.  Also I learned that if there is a charging deer, I am going to hand the rifle to my husband.
