This is a little off the Appleseed message but we need to get the word out. Perdue is still sitting on SB308(http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2009_10/sum/sb308.htm (http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2009_10/sum/sb308.htm)) and SB291(http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2009_10/sum/sb291.htm (http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2009_10/sum/sb291.htm)). They clarify and remove some restrictions on the Georgia Firearms Licenses and are of great value to anyone interested in state-level legislation related to RTKBA.

I'd be interested in feedback on the following:
SB 308 apparently redefines a "long gun" to be under 18" barrel length (as opposed to the previously defined 16").
I had a friend contact me suggesting that this potentially legislates all of us (with 16" barrels) into criminals. On the one hand, my initial reading is that this definition is simply for this piece of legislation which doesn't in itself concern restrictions (as far as I can see) on short barreled rifles. On the other hand, I ask myself, what's with the 18" definition?
Any insight/comments?
Might be better asked over at georgiacarry.org - I was simply hoping to spread the word...
Perdue did sign 308 but vetoed 291.
