SecurePeace and I took a drive out to CMP North yesterday to check out their inventory. Glad to say I'm a proud new owner of a piece of rifleman history.
But aside from that I was a little surprised when they were processing the paperwork and told me RWVA had terminated their relationship and was no longer considered a listed club. The lady was kind enough to process my order but said next time I really need to show proof of membership in a listed club.
Could someone shed some light on this? Has RWVA terminated its relationship purposely (I can't imagine that) or was it simply terminated by default because annual paperwork hasn't been submitted? I never thought this would be an issue because I see and hear all the time about fellow AS'ers making successful purchases but at the same time I'd hate to see this progress to the point a person makes a 6 hour drive (or more/or less) with high expectations only to be turned away.
Nothing more than a paperwork glitch which should be cleared up in about a week...
Thanks for the quick response. Now I see why they call you Fred the Fixer!
Sjyhawk,
Congratulations on the history. I think that you will really enjoy it.
Thanks jm.....I was very disappointed after the long drive to find they were out of service grades. But the field grade I selected was checked by the helpful attendants who said it was virtually the same as a service grade. As the old saying goes, "the rifle is usually more accurate than the rifleman" and we will both be put to the test at the upcoming RBC. Hoping to do 3 MOA at KD but not sure if that is realistic or not.
