Title: Making a Quarter MOA site adjustment

I don't think this one is in the Apple Seed Instructors manual: Quarter MOA adjustment

(B9's pic, Robby's rifle, my quarter - which I never got back.)

Good thing it was not off the paper then. $$$

You saw Crak make a front sight post on a Mosin with black tape in Albion. Adjustments were 1 MOA per snip.

So, next time, settle for a nickle, and half-MOA. ;D ;D

(Actually, a pretty interesting idea, along with the black tape on the front sight...you could prob file a penny flat on one side, and notches on the other, and have a workable elevator for a rear sight like this one.)

Robby's treasure was missing the elevation ramp (I think 1/2 the .22's over 30 years old are missing the elevation ramp) so we AIO'd.  It brought him right on to target.

The best Mosin front sight is thin heat shrink (I think 1/8 is what fits) - shrink some on it, trim it to height, throw it out when your done.

BTW: my Quarter Woes continue:

I spent last weekend with a boyscout troop helping them with rifle merit badge. The marksmanship requirement is 3 shots in a quarter size group at 50'.  So every kid ended up borrowing a quarter from me to check their groups - I didn't get a single quarter back.

They must have been working on the Panhandling merit badge as well...
