Title: Las Cruces Event 4-10/11-10
Post by: TaosGlock on April 21, 2010, 10:44:13 PM
Another great NM shoot! :~ O0 O0
This one was held at the Las Cruces Butterfield Range.
11 shooters showed up and we finished registration by 9.
Ages ranged from 17-71 :---

BlueFeather explains the Redcoat target. This target finally answers the question "what is my effective range?" 40% of the shooters who have shot this target for the first time don't usually qualify even at 100 yards. If you want to be effective to 500 yards, what we call the "Rifleman's Quarter Mile",  you better get to an Appleseed.

duc-dog watches the west end of the line during the opening Redcoat.

The seated position. duc-dog, Boomer_EOD and staplegund instruct the line.

The shooters below do transitions from standing to sitting change for Stage 2 of the AQT. 10 rounds in about one minute on 2 targets that represent a 200 yard shot.
The shooters along with instructors Boomer_EOD, SamD and BlueFeather get ready for the "Fire" command.

Shooter problems were cured and detected with this drill.

At the target line analyzing targets. How big is my group and where is my group?

The standing position as demoed by SamD and staplegund. Standing is the least stable position but is the fastest to acquire and often the one used most in the field.
