Just a heads up.
A shooter had an aftermarket 10/22 recoil buffer shatter. The pieces jammed the bolt open and took quite a bit of doing to remove.
It was was an unknown brand, but it was made of clear hard plastic.
Be warned.
Any idea on the details, such as how long it had been in use, what material it was made of?
Thanks for the heads up.
Brand new. He had someone put together an LTR, first time out.
It was clear hard plastic... and hollow.
Hard, as in, wow, of course it shattered.
I keep a stock metal pin in my range bag just in case. Almost everyone has them and they arent going to break.
Later,
Chrome...
And dental picks to get broken plastic out of the nooks and crannies of a 10-22 trigger group.

Can't remember the maker, but the only hollow buffer I have run across has a steel core in it. Sounds like who ever did the job left a part out.
