I posted this under "Deals & Steals", but so it's not missed, I wanted to post it here too:
I just ordered 900 rounds of brass-cased Yugo surplus 7.62x39 ammo from Sportsman's Guide. They have it listed for $154.97. But if you join/renew the club membership (an extra $30), they give you free ground shipping + DOUBLE the club discount. PLUS, you can enter a coupon code (like SG1552) to get ANOTHER $10 off.
Here's the link: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/900-rds-762x39-mm-123-gr-fmj-ammo.aspx?a=445854
My total order, shipped, came out to be $160.45 for 900 rounds. 17.8 cents per round. It may come out a little less if you use the coupon but don't join the club. I joined in anticipation of savings on future purchases this year. This ammo IS corrosive, so make sure you clean your rifle promptly afterward.
Happy shooting!!
It is a good deal just remember that the Yugo stuff is most likely corrosive. No excuse to not clean after shooting!

No if's and's or but's about it, ALL Yugoslavian 7.62x39 ammo is corrosive. Just ensure that you completely disassemble your SKS or AK to clean it, and use a good solvent like Hoppes #9. Once you've got your rifle clean, double check it a day or so later, just to be sure you didn't miss some of the corrosive salts... BTDT, got the pitting to prove it.
This ammo has proven to be the most consistent ammunition I have found in this caliber; USA made 7.62x39 uses an improper bullet diameter, which makes shooting to a 4MOA standard with it nearly impossible, especially at full distance.
FYI:
nominal bore diameter of AK/SKS: .310"-.311"
Bullet diameter of US: .308"
Bullet diameter of Yugo: .311"
ALWAYS use windex or some diluted ammonia to clean the barrel first. Hot water is ok but not as good. This dissolves and neutralizes the corrosive salts. I make sure to do that on the day of firing. Then I run an oiled patch through it. Don't forget the gas tube and rod! I can clean it at my lesiure afterward. And don't make me tell you how the Russians got field expedient ammonia.

WARNING:
DO NOT USE ANY SOLVENT ON YOUR FIREARM UNLESS YOU KNOW THAT IT WILL NOT HARM THE FINISH.
Some very expensive Russian made firearms are not made to withstand Hoppes or any other solvent like it.
Just a warning before you wreck you nice rifle.
