Title: Virtual Muster Night 2.0! Tues. March 16 from 8-10:30 pm. [Official IN Thread]
Post by: techres on March 15, 2010, 03:15:41 PM
It is upon us again, the muster drums are starting.  The work is coming up fast.  We are 30 days to making history with the largest shooting event in the USA.  In order to prep for this event, we are going to muster up again in 24 hours and solidify what we are doing this and next month.

In Indiana, we have the following events that need staffed:

Indianapolis 1500 (THIS WEEKEND!)

Evansville, April 17-18 (Sur+Rifle, SB)
Cloverdale, April 17-18 (DaveD, SB)
Ft. Wayne, April 17-18 (Bill3, SB)
Hoosier Hills (Gnawbone), April 17-18 (Techres, SB)
Wabash, April 17-18 (?, SB)

and the following weekend:

Riley, April 24-25 (Techres, SB)

We need staffing filled in NOW.  If you are not signed up for a shoot - get signed up now.  Some of these shoots are not up on the official list yet, but they are the real deal.  Post in this thread which you are going to do and remember that April is an "all hands on deck" month.  We need you!

Now, Hawkhavn did not expect this many shoots and signed up for an out of state shoot, leaving these in my newbie hands.  Let's not let him down.  And more importantly, let's not let the mission down.

So, come on, sign up, and tell everyone where you are going to be on April 17-18!

And remember, the historian whose book all of you instructors teach from, will be on the Radio Show tomorrow night and this will likely be the only opportunity for you to listen to him and perhaps even call in and get to ask him a question.  That is just plain cool.

See you tomorrow night, and let's get these events squared away,
Techres

P.S. For anyone who does not know what Virtual Muster Night 2 is about, please read here:

March 16th Virtual Muster Night: Second Strike!

March 16th, 7:00-10:30pm

As all of you know, the muster on the Lexington green was not the pivotal event that launched the future of this nation.  As important, vital, and critical a moment as it was, that dawn on the green did not produce the revolution of heart, mind, and peoplehood.

Each of you have heard, and retold the next step in the story.  The Second Strike: the early day full of concerned riflemen, the din of discussions, and the  urgent need for decision followed by action.

We are now at that moment.  2010 looms with April 17-18 steadily marching towards us.  We know, in general terms, what needs to be done but are in that morning of discussions and noise.  Time is running out on us and we all know it.  How shall we act, what will we do?

VM Night #2 is our moment, our "second strike" where we need to sharpen the range of discussions and bring into clear focus the actual work that needs done.

Ranges & shoots are on the board, riflemen and riflewomen have answered the call to muster, the count is done - now is the time for work.  This night is for the answering the question "What will each of us do?" not in general terms but in very, very specific jobs and duties.

As with that morning at Concord, there many voices pulling in many directions and a threat of chaos to the unfaithful.  But just as our ancestors came together to make decisions that made history, we will do the same.

"What will each of us do?"  is a question we have each asked ourselves and this night will be the moment of answer.  Pick your shoots, pick your promotional duties, and find which wall or hill you will man - fully prepared - for the moment history arrives.

Because that history will be empty without us, we will make it!

As with the previous virtual muster night, come online and visit your State board.  Check in with your State Coordinator and sign up for your shoots and promotions as well as any other jobs.  We are still just short of 100 shoots on the April 17th weekend and there is still time to meet that goal and blow through it!  Many shoots are simply waiting on paperwork, others are waiting on followup, others are lost in lack of communication.  All of this can be worked on, or better yet, completed on this night.

Now, as a special treat: while we are all working, there will be a special Rifleman Radio Show where David Hackett Fischer will be our guest. Dr. Fischer is the author of "Paul Revere's Ride", the main text we use to teach about April 19, 1775 and thus will make an excellent listen, answer session and central core to keep us focussed.  He will be with us talking history for the first hour and once thanked for his time, the radio show will shift into the work ahead during the second hour.

Thanks to each and every one of you, and once again I know each of you will stand and shoulder your work just as you have proven your ability to shoulder your rifle.

See you there,
Techres, Scout, & Fred

Here we go!

Guys, let's do this!

Fellow Hoosiers, we need:

Instructors signed onto shoots
1500 Volunteers
Promotional Assistants

We have 5 April 17-18 shoots (Evansville, Cloverdale, Nashville, Ft. Wayne, Wabash) which is superb!  Now, we need workers.

Hawkhavn is looking for 1500 workers this weekend.  You can do this sitting and with no training at all.  Seriously.

Finally, we need to fill all our shoots and get the word out.  Who is ready to help?

Look forward to having y'all border raid into IL on Sept 11-12 for the 300 man shoot.

If there is anything the IL crew can do to assist......just ring the muster bell!!
