In just over one week, the Appleseed Project will be hosing an event called Virtual Muster Night. It is designed to help us all rejuvenate ourselves and each of our state programs. Additionally, it will help each of you get workers reporting in that you can begin to assign to all those shoots and tasks you need filled in 2010.
The Virtual Muster Night event is Feb. 2nd from 7pm-9pm Central. The event will be both on the forum and on Scout's radio show at the same time. Attendees will come to the forum, sign in to the Virtual Muster Night Subforum and then report to each of you in your state forums. Once there you can begin to assign work to each, check in on projects and so forth. As an incentive there will be special event only threads running with MI's on cool topics and open for Q&A!
At the same time, the Rifleman Radio Show will be running and we hope many will come onto the Radio Show to report in on the forum mustering activities. Scout will be there along with many others in the chat room. If any of you have missed the Radio Show, you must come in the weeks leading up to Virtual Muster night to get a feel for what we do there weekly.
What Virtual Muster Night Offers You
First of all, this is a great opportunity to have a rededication of your state workers to the cause.
Second, this is a great way to plan now and start jobs early in order to make 2010 the year we really need it to be.
Third, this is a way to get your workers on the forum and to remind them that it is the hub of organization and activity.
Fourth, this will introduce everyone to the Radio Show that has not done it.
Fifth, this is a great way to tie ourselves to history. Parker asked his men to stand in the night while he spat up blood. All we are asking is for them to take 2 hours (or less) to stand up with each of you on your state green and be counted.
What Virtual Muster Night Asks Of You
The greater a success this event becomes, the less work you will have to do later this year. This is a great recruiting tool that hopefully will be able to fill up your current shoots, and to hand other jobs out to and reduce your workloads significantly.
A quick word of thanks is called for here: Thanks to each of you. Being a state coordinator is no small amount of work. It is our fervent hope that this event will reduce your load long term even though it may ask a small amount of work in the short term.
So, please, get ready to muster up. Get ready to have an "Appleseed Revival" for each of our people who can use it. And get ready to hand out work to each an every one who actually comes to the virtual green in order to take on their part of the better future we are all working to create.
Start your preparations now, and keep an eye out for the general announcements that are coming. Help spread the word once the muster bell is rung and let's make this a big night.
And let's set some records, both for the forum and for the radio show. We ask our participants at every Appleseed how many could they muster on short notice. This is our night to ask that question of ourselves, our states, and of our program: "How many can WE muster?"
Let's make real work of it.
Thank You,
Techres

How's things in your world, Mark
Contracts are very scarce right now. No work for the last 4 weeks. I did have an interview in Dallas last week (would have to move there for the year) but that fell through for other reasons besides me knowing the technical side. I did land a contract for 5 weeks this morning starting on the 16th, so back on the road for me. After that, who knows.
Back to work for you now?
