I headed down to Knob Creek to take Kenny the host papers for the range to get them some dates. I just happened in there a while back and he said he was on board again this year, but I didn't have what I needed with me. Note to self throw all my AS stuff in the car and carry it always. Anyway i got there and he was gone for the day so I left the papers there and will follow up on that.
Then on the way home I saw they had a gun show in Ferdinand so of course I stop in. I spoke with Ron Stone a director of the Jasper Rifle and gun club again. He is receptive to Appleseed but. The range is not really in a configuration friendly to Appleseed they have lanes. So I just happen onto a guy I know from another Appleseed and I was telling him what I was doing. He said hey I have a range at my house. I described to him what we needed and he thought it could work. I will be going out to his place to shoot and check it out soon. So keep your fingers crossed that it will work out.
Not a bad day but could have been better if I would have gotten Knob Creek wound up.
Mudcat, Semi-productive day? Sounds like you made lots of good contacts. I wouldn't worry about KCR. I do the Machine Gun Shoot every April & October since 1998. If you hit a bump,(doubtful) let me know, I can work him over when I'm down there. **) **)
2 additional range contacts to boot!! O0
Take heed you other Great Lakes Region states.....Indiana, with that new RC and SC are on a roll ^:)^
Good Great work!
Hope to see you again soon,
EEL
I've known Kenny for several years as when I was stationed at ft. Knox we used to go there all the time and help out during shoot weekends. That was in 88-92. I just happened to go there on one of the very few weekends when he isn't around. I will call them next week and if nothing else I will be passing through there in Feb.
