Research indicates that the problem is an IE8 bug.
Solution: Use compatibility mode....Go Figure.....
1 - From within IE8 select the tools menu (upper right side).
2 - Select "Compatibility View Settings" from menu.
3 - Either add "appleseedinfo.org" to the list to use compatibility mode or select "Display all pages in compatibility mode".
Problem should go away.
Solution 2: Use a real browser.......... **)

It seems to be working! Awesome!
No more shall my posts be reduced to a skeleton message!
No more shall I fear miss-spelling as a result of not being able to see what I'm writing!
I used to know all this computer stuff.... Back in the days of Windows 98 but I lapsed.
Now I find, I'm way behind.
Thanks again!
You don't realize how much this actually improves my productivity!
Sorry to report it does not work for me - guess I'll have to get to using a real browser... :(
I was just writing everything in notepad and cuting and pasting :)

I was hoping to get away from that now that we have a solid server and spell check.
Thankfully I'm stuck with an older version a IE.
Thanks so much! I was typing something the other day and it was "jumping" and driving me NUTS! :wb: :wb: :wb: You guys catch those kind of things really fast! Thanks again!
Hello Bill 3,
I have noticed when sending PM's when I begin typing to whom I want the PM sent the forum does not automatically try to present the name of the addressee as it was before.
Having this ability was a good thing.......just start typing the first 2 or 3 letters of the screen name of the addressee in PM and it appeared.
I don't think this is happening anymore since the server change.
FYI.
Thank you VERY MUCH for helping AS with these computer matters.
Brett
It does still work although I'll say it's so far the only thing running slower than before. Will research it. Thanks for the heads up.
