We need volunteers in sales, marketing, PR, IT, and general "running of an organization."
Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

Alabama celebrated Patriots' Day once again at Hobbs Island Shooting Range in South Huntsville.  The owner, Don, and Range Master, Matt, have been stalwart supporters of the Appleseed mission since the range opened in 2020.  We are truly blessed to have them as partners.

Before we started the event Maximum Ordinate awarded Booney Stomper his 100 shoot pin.  Booney is an icon in the Tennessee Valley and it was particularly fitting that Patriots' Day was his 100th event.  Huzzah and Thank You, Booney!

The weekend started with 10 shooters, including father/daughter, sister/brother, and husband/wife pairs.  Saturday morning brought a little rain, but we were busy with instruction and dry fire exercises so it didn't dampen spirits.  The sun broke through in the afternoon and we ended the beautiful day with an AQT.

Sunday morning dawned much cooler and the group put on more layers and kept going.  After Ball and Dummy we paused to let the two young ladies take a turn shooting an M1 Garand.  I'd like to think that John Garand and Gen. Patton would be proud of their posterity.  We alternated AQTs and drills until mid-afternoon and found two Riflemen among us -- husband and wife Mark and Rachel!  The important thing to note is that Rachel edged Mark by a few points.  No competition to see here folks!

We ended the day with the Memorial Volley called by Booney Stomper.

I want to thank all the shooters, the crew and HISR for an awesome weekend!  Enjoy the pictures below ...  ^:)^
