Our second event in Nevada at DSRPC in sunny Las Vegas!

We had steadily increasing temps throughout the last two weeks which peaked on Saturday at a recorded 96F. Wind was also scheduled with 18 mph gusts. I was ready to break some more popups. Our new IIT JohnDS came out to help instruct in the morning and was a welcome addition. We will watch his Appleseed career with great interest.
Saturyday morning we had 8 shooters on the line. Winner of the furthest traveled was from Washington State here on a trip. We also met a shooter that had attended the very first Appleseed in Nevada that was taught by Fred. (He gave himself away by answering the trick questions correctly) The conditions of the day were grueling and by the last red coat, all attendees, including yours truly were exhausted.
As always, shots were placed, stories were told, and fun was had by all. Every Appleseed is truly different but the good spirits of the event always seems the same. We had two young ladies with us, one of which asked if it was bad that she learned more during lunch than in her history class. I replied that it was good that she was here to learn it.
Sunday promised cooler temps and we crested the lower 90s. We had three attendees returning that tore themselves from comfy beds and endured sore muscles. Riflemen truly persist. We had a much more laid back and customized shoot. The pace was dicated by whatever our small group needed. Additional instruction besides the normal Sunday review was gone over with some drills that normally cannot be fitted for lack of time. We went at a relaxed pace that was a nice contrast to the normal AQT grind.
Like always, the sore feet and burned skin are worth it.
See you next time!
