We need volunteers in sales, marketing, PR, IT, and general "running of an organization."
Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

Ames, IA had a great turnout for this Patriot's Weekend Appleseed Clinic, with 19 shooters!  The weather forecast for Saturday was cold, rainy and windy.  And it delivered!!  Despite the gloomy forecast, all 19 pre-registered shooters showed up and so I knew right away this was going to be a special group.  Fortunately the Ames Izaak Walton League has excellent facilities, which includes a covered firing line.  It helped a lot.  But the wind made sure everyone got a little wet, anyway.

The weather worsened in the afternoon to such an extent that green coat targets were disintegrating in the rain and wind, and some target backers simply snapped off of their bases!  Needless to say we had to break early.  Despite the rude weather, everyone had great attitudes and showed great resilience.

Sunday was a MUCH better day.   It was chilly, but so much better than the day before.  Most everyone returned and the marksmanship improved.  We had one requalifying Rifleman -- great job Evan!  And we had one new Rifleman, first time Appleseeder, Jason.  Outstanding!  Out of this group of 19, at least 14 were first timers to an Appleseed!  Many were scoring in the 180-205 range by the end of the day.

The Iowa Instructor Cadre also picked up TWO new orange hats.  Welcome aboard Chris and son, Shane!  We are excited to have you join the team!

The instructor crew had a great time with this group!  It was a pleasure working with them.

I'll post some pics of the event later.
