We need volunteers in sales, marketing, PR, IT, and general "running of an organization."
Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

The Patriot's Day event at the Leyden Rifle Club started out cold and wet. As the day progressed, the weather became less wet, but more cold (snow! sleet! Welcome to New England!). Four motivated participants braved the conditions and spent the weekend experiencing everything that Leyden, the Jewel of Western Massachusetts, has to offer.

We had heritage discussion. We had AQTs. We had drills. We discussed external ballistics. We had rimfire AQTs at 100 meters. We got the full distance centerfire experience up to and including creek-hopping, hill-climbing, and stump-jumping. We even had the Sunday Evening Rifleman's Song at Bennington performed by Appleseed's own @goodpiper (http://www.folkarchive.de/benning.html)!

The Shoot Boss was too busy shivering and keeping up with the well-prepared and motivated shooters to take any pictures, but there was photography, and there still is hope for pictures here in this thread.

We definitely had a good time I especially like the know distance opportunities.

The 200 yard target line at Leyden, looking back towards the firing line. That's ChrisinNy looking at P. Sr., goodpiper and aim discussing the target holders : "Times change, targets got smaller, we had to rebuild the frames..." (top).

On the left, ChrisinNy is preparing for his Morgan's Shingle Challenge with a very pretty SKS. To the right is E., doing the same with an almost-AR. In the background is aim, wearing everything he owns and looking for eye protection - as always (bottom).
