Title: Summerville, GA - Oct 8-9
Post by: Ramblin' Wreck on October 19, 2016, 09:43:52 AM
It was good to get back to Summerville again after a two year break for me when the events were run by other Shoot Bosses in the area. As usual the Chattooga Wildlife Club were excellent hosts and provided tents, a porta potty and even set up the target line before we got there. You can't ask for much more than that.

We started Saturday with an enthusiastic group of shooters and experienced cadre and the promise of a successful weekend. The weather was beautiful except for the wind which rarely dropped below 25 mph both days. This was a good time to stake down your shooting mat and use extra staples on your targets.

Tellico told the first strike and we got immediately into the basics of SHF and 6 steps after shooting the initial red coat target so we could determine everyone's starting ability. At the dinner break Cleveland told strike two and we finished up teaching all the positions before the ol' Wreck told strike 3 and we finished the day with another red coat.

Sunday we lost half our shooters I suspect due to the unrelenting wind. By the end of the day we had some shooters who got very close to 210 but couldn't quite put 4 good strings together to get over the top.

Thanks to Tellico, Bowditch, Cleveland and TJ8 for making this an easy event for the Wreck. And thanks especially to the Chattooga Wildlife club for hosting us again. We look forward to coming back in 2017.
