Title: Smyrna, Tn June 23 - 24 AAR
Post by: Ramblin' Wreck on June 25, 2012, 12:05:15 PM

Appleseed really is an event the whole family can enjoy. Ofthe shooters registered for the event in Smyrna there were 7 families with twoor more family members represented.  Onefamily ended the day Sunday with mom, dad and two young ladies present.

A top-notch instructor crew of Armalite, Morpheus, Tellico, Runnfree,SuperDave#2, AmmoMike, Asa, Vujade, made running an event a snap for a newbieShoot boss. Thanks folks for making the event a success.

We started the day Saturday with a mix of experiencedshooters, including a couple of former Appleseeders, and a couple of firsttimers who had never held a rifle before.
We moved through the safety briefing and went to the Redcoattarget with only two 100 yard shooters. By the afternoon Redcoat we had 6.Everyone made a lot of progress on Saturday, especially Melissa and Sarah J.

After a review on Sunday we began the AQT grind and thepace, and the temperature, both increased. The grind produced one new Rifleman,Mike A, who qualified with a score of 218, when the thermometer read 102degrees. Now that's persistence!

Several other shooters got very close with scores in the 180'sand 190's. Billy H. got closest with a 204. I predict he'll be back with therest of the family at another Appleseed soon as will the father/son team ofSteve and Chris S.

Thanks to all the shooters who came out and gave such agreat teachable attitude. You folks are why we do this.

Yes it was HOT but all the shooters never gave up.  It was great working with the young ladies, they improved so much.  Very nice range with a great support staff (Super Dave 2)

As always it's a great pleasure to work with everyone :)

The Time Monkey was trying it's hardest to get us on Saturday but the Great Instructors,,, Shoot Boss,,, Line Boss and Support Staff beat it back into it's cage for a wonderful time to be had by all the shooters :)

Sunday was a grind and as already pointed out the shooters persisted,,, never gave up and made for a great day :) ... Congrats to everyone that came out and hope to see you all back out at VTS-Smyrna in the near future...  I would just like to add " Blue Loctite 242 " for everybody,,, it's a lifesaver in time of need  ;)

One Last thing is "Pear Butter" --- Thank You again Pamela for the wonderful tasting treat :D
