Dad

What a great weekend, sunny, light breeze, and 80 degrees. We had 17 shooters Saturday, 14 on Sunday. Oxford had 4 Riflemen, and several "knocking on the door".

The instuctors and I want to give a special thanks to Joe the landowner. He has very provided Appleseed a great place to shoot. Joe keeps the range mowed to perfection. He never fails to check on us to make sure we have everything we need to make Appleseed a success. Thanks, Joe!

ksuguy

Yeah, Joe has been great with providing the range.

I'm glad I was finally able to put all my good stages together on one AQT and earn my patch. Wasn't sure I was going to be able to do it on Sunday since I was battling equipment problems.  I think I should be able to do even better if I can just get a stock that is the right size for my 10/22.

Dad and Joe are stand-up guys.  We need more on the trail...
Gun control is mind control.

" Of every One-Hundred men, Ten shouldn't even be there,
Eighty are nothing but targets,
Nine are real fighters...
We are lucky to have them...They make the battle,
Ah, but the One, One of them is a Warrior...
and He will bring the others back."

I have been shooting for 20+ years.  I just did not realize I was shooting only half as good as I should have.  I loved this shoot.  The grounds and range were awesome, and Joe the owner was super.  "Dad" and the whole crew were very understanding and worked through all our troubles.  Equipment failures or form issues, they covered it all.

At first I could not hardly hit the red coats.  But by Sunday, I was a rifleman.  This is an awesome program.  I would recommend it to anyone, and my Dad and I will plan on going again next year.

O0  They are OK in my book.

:~  Happy shooting.

Arik, you don't know how much we hear that as instructors!  Its what I said, and what pretty much every other person who grew up as a "gun guy" (without actually knowing the basics) said after his first appleseed.  The fact that I hear this so much from people who have been shooting their whole lives really confirms what a great program appleseed is.  I don't know about you, but the fact that I benefited so much from appleseed really made me think that it would be worthwhile to join the RWVA, become an instructor, and help pass those skills on to lots of other people who could benefit from them just as much as I did.  I was right -- it is very worthwhile!  Seeing people have the very same excited response as I did at my first shoot is what makes it all worth it.

Congrats to arik and the other new Riflemen.

Keep your skills up!  go here http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=3710.0 to download all the targets we shoot, and print them out.

here is where you get cheap m1 slings so you can use the loop method too:  http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=984970&chrSuperSKU=&MC=
and here are the extra sling clips so you can have one on each end like some of us do:  http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=537280&chrSuperSKU=&MC=

Hey, I can not get the first link to work.  It says "an error has occured".

Is it the right link?

henschman

oh yeah, i guess they moved that thread to a section of the forum that you can only get on if you're an instructor or instructor in training.  I think its on what's called the "WL1" forum.

Sorry.  If you want the targets I can e-mail them to you... or you could just become an IIT and get on the forum for yourself!   :)

But, the price they paid to win us our liberty? Few of us can comprehend it. Even fewer of us would want - or even be willing - to pay it. But all of us should know - at least - about it.
