A fantastic group of Americans participated in our seed this weekend. Some returned with friends and family. Three of our newest shooters challenged themselves using tech sights and did an outstanding job getting sighted in and reducing the size of their groups throughout the first day. Shout out to Katy who was the only shooter to clear their redcoat target on their first try Saturday morning. During lunch everyone put on their heavy coats while listening to the first strike of the match. We spent ample time Saturday coaching and practicing the fundamentals of marksmanship in prone, seated and standing positions. The time was well spent. We saw every shooter's effectiveness improve as evidenced from the results of our second redcoat target that evening.

The morning of day two started with another redcoat target. We were all sad Shannon was not able to return. Your groups on day one demonstrated that you are applying all the skills taught. With a little practice you will be earning a Rifleman patch soon. One shooter changed their optics overnight since there seemed to be a possible internal problem with the scope used on the first day. Squares targets showed improvement compared to the previous day. Carding the sights was a big eye opener for most.  Some learned they need to work on NPOA while others confirmed the difference it makes. Very pleased that a couple shot a 4 MOA group in this exercise, holy cow! After practicing transitions we were able to complete some AQTs.  Excited to report the following participants achieved a Rifleman score:

Eric D : 219
Mike M : 228, 243 (Distinguished Optics), 243 (Distinguished without Optics), 232
Katy G : 237, 232, 230, 232
John G Jr : 222, 216, 210
John G : 220
Michael G : 210

Michael's persistence paid off as he was able to get over the hump earning his very own Rifleman patch. Congratulations!

Shooters took a break while they listened to the 3rd strike and stories about remarkable patriots like Hezekiah Wyman. After this it was time to put our skills to the test one more time with the last redcoat target of the weekend. Once scores were tallied, the following shooters proved their is no luck nor chance involved in their hitting their mark as these shooters walked away with the coveted Maryland 400 patch after clearing the target:

Katy G
Mike M
John G
John G Jr
Steven G

And a hearty huzzah to every shooter! Over half hit the shingle and proved they are effective to 400 yards. Thanks to Mike for bringing your wife and friends. Suzanne overcame many rifle obstacles. Her and Gloria were just getting the hang of adjusting and using their slings and showed constant improvement all weekend. Andrew discovered a loose screw in his front sight but was able to switch to a loaner to finish the day.  Paul, Eric and Andrew improved groups and scores up until the end. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you all and I encourage each of you to join us again soon.

Don't forget to check out the forum for updates and lots of advice as you continue your Rifleman journey. Anyone that wants to invite us to provide the history to your schools, churches, or other groups can contact me anytime. Information about these Libertyseeds can be found on our website. You will also find more information about our other programs we talked about like Known Distance and Pistol events.

Oh and one more thing to top off the weekend. Please join me in congratulating K3 for successfully completing his checks and our newest fully qualified Red Hat instructor.

Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

Thanks also to Liberty Boy for your continued dedication to preserving Liberty. From going the extra mile maintaining target lines and clearing leaves to coaching shooters on the line, your efforts are commendable.

And many thanks to our host range, AAFG, that continue to provide the space and facilities to host our events.
