Bunnell - Private Event - Promotional Opportunity October 12-13, 2013

Calling all Floridians!

The weekend of October 12 -13, 2013 has three public Florida appleseed events on the calendar.
Gainesville (with no SB signed up) and 0 pre-registrations; Hernando (PHenry SB) with 3 pre-registrations; and Myakka (with no SB) and 0 pre-registrations.

There is an event scheduled for Flagler Gun Club in Bunnell on the November 2 -3, 2013 weekend.  9mm4545, RamboGranny, TomM1Thumb,  DeadEyeRead  and FLawyer are all members of that club.  The current club president, the Rifle director and several board members are past attendees.  The president is a Rifleman.  The club is very supportive of Appleseed.

The club is having an Open House on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  You can see the announcement at http://flaglergunclub.com/

The Club has agreed to allow Appleseed to set up a display and conduct mini-teaser promotions on the 50 yard Rifle Range several times that day.  We have to use the covered line and 50 yard targets that day as they are trying to allow prospective members to experience the club facilities.  I am enlarging some targets to use at 50 yards.  My plan is to set up a couple of stations with targets, a table with literature and my iPad with internet.  Give some Appleseed pitches with demonstrations of what we teach and shoot.  Allow interested Members and Guests to sign up for Appleseed right then using the iPad (hopefully).  If nothing else we spread the word to people interested in shooting.

On the next day Sunday, October 13, 2013 starting at 11:00 a.m. the Club is having a Family Fun Day for Members and families only.  On Sunday we are allowed to have a canopy set up with a 25 meter firing line to allow club members (and their youthful family members) to try their hand at a redcoat target using loaner rifles. 

Scuzzy and PHenry have arranged to get this set up as a Private event so that Instructors can sign up - it is just not advertised to the public.

If you are not committed to work one of the three other Florida events scheduled for that day, I would greatly appreciate you showing up to help with this promotional event.  Loaner Rifles and ammunition would be GREATLY appreciated.  Because we will not be covering the full Appleseed curriculum, this will be an excellent opportunity for some Appleseed fellowship and trigger time.

I should be able to make it.  So do I understand correctly that there will eventually be a place to sign up for this in TIPS?

Assuming I can get a SB for Gainesville (and some students signed up for that event), I will be there. If no students in Gainesville, then I will definitely be there.

DeadEyeRed and I will be there for Both days, I will also put 1k of 22LR ammo to the Cause.

I will bring My loaners also!

Please remember a day at the Range, is always better than a Day spent almost anywhere else!

For the open house event we will be using the covered 50 yd rifle range. I am working on a scaled up 50 yd Redcoat variation. Paint the large target on a standard IDPA target and staple a sheet with the rest of the target to that.  The picture posted here should give you a rough idea.  I am planning on adding a tall bearskin hat to the top of target with black paint....
