A good turnout with great weather made for an awesome weekend at Somers Sportsman's Assn. Twelve shooters, ranging from 14 to 73 years of age participated, with varying degrees of experience.

The 1st strike told by Kosciuszko started the day off Saturday with the 1st redcoat after safety and getting everyone sorted out on the line. Standard POI's were taught throughout the day with an AQT by day's end.

Sunday started overcast but improved until the sun shone by late morning. More personalized attention given to those who needed it while a series of AQT's were fired. Now, on to our Riflemen and Riflewoman.

Alou became our Riflewoman with a score of 214. Next was Brandon, a repeat RM with a 220 backing it up with a 227. Much improvement seen in others, Dan with a 207 and a couple others in the 190's.

Special attention given Sunday for those who sacrificed on that day during the presentation and firing the volley with a moment of silence thereafter. All attending got a BBB sheet, "to frame and honor as a perpetual memorial", as those who had written it so long ago would have wanted.

A big thank you goes out to the Somers Sportsman's Association for the use of the range. They've been solid supporters of Appleseed and we look forward to events there in the future.

The attendees were great to work with, as said earlier much improvement seen. Many were first time Appleseed attendees.

The instructor crew of Shootr murf, Edge and Kosciuszko did their best in covering safety, help with shooters needs and event lending equipment to make things go well for those who needed it. A big thanks to you all.

Pics were taken and should be up soon.

 A Rifleman, and Riflewoman, persists.

I was really proud of all the shooters!  They made quick gains in their marksmanship and the groups showed it.  HOOZA!  HOOZA!  HOOZA!

Great job!!

Edge

It was a great weekend for shooting. Thanks to all who attended. The stories were great. I had a lot of fun and I think all the shooters did too. Plenty of laughs and smiles all weekends.
