The day began with clear skies, cool weather and a hits count first string of fire that hinted at some (potential) riflemen among us.  After a great first strike by Roswell in the persona of Captain Parker and the safety rules delivered by Bug_7, the 25m course of fire was off and running.  We spend the morning working with a diverse group of students which included families, first time shooters, returning IITs and a 7th step invitee!  The first live fire squares yielded the results we  suspected earlier in the morning where groups were 6 MOA or less!  After letting the students in on the fact that their targets can actually talk to them, we retreated back into the classroom for a great 2nd strike by UpACreek and IMC by Roswell.  After lunch, we made some sight adjustments bringing everyone close to (or less than) 4 MOA and proceeded to learn more about the tripod of marksmanship followed by two AQTs and rifleman scores by half the line comprised of 3 re-requalifications, two new riflemen one of which received a North Bridge water baptism for his 210.  The Saturday closing hits count saw remarkable improvement with half the line making shingle shots and 3 cleared targets and a new Orange Hat was welcomed into the program, congratulations Allison!   We also awarded four William Diamond patches to our youth attendees!  Sunday yielded TWELVE rifleman scores including one distinguished and a second, missed only by 1 point!

It was a great day for heritage, history and marksmanship!

Thank you students and instructors for making it a safe and very productive event and to Sheriff Reynolds and Corporal Watkins for hosting us!
