Title: CMP Rimfire Sporter in WA
Post by: maxwell on July 13, 2017, 07:07:56 PM
There's been some talk on the forum about Rimfire Sporter, which is a fun follow-on activity to Appleseed if you want to keep improving your marksmanship (after earning your patch and taking an Orange Hat, natch). You can find a list of upcoming matches for WA on the CMP's tracker:

https://ct.thecmp.org/app/v1/index.php?do=matchRegistrationListUpcoming&filter=designation&filter_value=RIMFIRE (https://ct.thecmp.org/app/v1/index.php?do=matchRegistrationListUpcoming&filter=designation&filter_value=RIMFIRE)

I just sort by state in reverse order, so we're near the top. There's nothing close enough to me, but more matches might be added next year, or you can work with your local range/club to get it started in your area.

On a related note, we shoot highpower at Port Townsend on the second Saturday of every month, which is another way to keep progressing in marksmanship. If you have a centerfire rifle and sling, the course of fire is like shooting an AQT at 100 yards, with longer time limits, bigger targets, and no transitions! Lots of local clubs run those, as well.
