Alabama folks,
Leigh Dollar, Mayor of Guntersville, has proposed an ordinance that would allow local law enforcement to confiscate firearms during emergencies. This is above and beyond the established authority that LEOs have to arrest people for brandishing or being a threat to the public.
The issue is going to be raised at the city council meeting on March 4th.

Due to public reaction, this proposed legislation has been withdrawn. I think the mayor is shocked at the public response and a little embarrassed she got caught.

Just from a Law Enforcement perspective, I am not sure how many police they would get to enforce that unConstitutional city ordinance.
