Appleseed returns to the Bornemann Farm once again!  We were blessed with very nice weather, and the sunshine and wind were enough to dry out the range following 3+ inches of rain a few days prior to the event.  This range is still under construction, but hopefully we will be able to host multiple events next year.

Many thanks to TrebleShooter for coming out and helping, and for her great presentation of the history lessons! Thanks also to Mark Davis for coming out, and for helping with the line and the Dangerous Old Men, even though he was technically a shooter at this event.   ;D  Thanks also to the Bornemann family for hosting, and the use of their facilities once again!

We had the unique opportunity to have 2 foreign exchange students on the line with us, and they really enjoyed the lesson in American History and Heritage! Of our 7 shooters, 5 were in their teens.   Was also great to have a former AS student from some 12+ years ago bringing his teenage kids to an Appleseed event now!

While we did not see any new Riflemen at this event, we did see a lot of improvement in the shooting skills of our attendees.  Was interesting to see several new Winchester Wildcat .22LR rifles on the line, all equipped with the factory aperture sights.  Ran into an issue with the rear sights not being tightened down very well from the factory, one fell completely off and the other three were all loose. Also had some difficulty with rapid mag changes, especially with 10/22 mags vs. the Winchester mags.  Seems to be a poor design in the mag catch/release system, the mags will sit in a little crooked and no amount of pushing or coaxing will get them to pop in. Have to remove and try again...   While they are technically compatible with 10/22 mags, they are much more prone to getting stuck while trying to insert the mag.

Anyway, we all had a great time, and look forward to hosting again next year!

Outstanding! Sounds like a great time. I have met Mark; good guy.
I would like to get up to one of your shoots again sometime; you'll have to come down to Iowa.
**WARNING** It's best not to stop in Minnesota on your way down; those people are weird.

Thank you Andrew and Trebleshooter for keeping things alive in the North!  It's been a rough go in the Upper Plains this year and you are to be commended for all you do up there.
Sounds like a fun and productive event and 7 shooters is great these days in our area..  Glad you get some Patriots up there,  being visited by Ghost Mark is a real plus!!  Congratulations to all who participated.
