15 eager shooters joined us a Mountain Top Gun and Archery Range in McMinnville TN. Many thanks to Mountain Top their continued support to Project Appleseed! 

Our Cadre handled the range setup and welcome flawlessly and Booney Stomper got us in the right frame of mind with a wonderful 1st Strike.

Multiple equipment issues and needs were addressed first off and this took some time but had to be done. The morning Hits Count target let us know that marksmanship instruction was certainly required - the Cadre delivered which was evident on the afternoon Hits Count.

Maximum Effort and special_K told the 2nd and 3rd Strikes with enthusiasm and inspiration to keep us all focused on the sacrifices our forefathers had to bear.

We were able to IAO and Sunday morning allowed us to get caught up and back on track. Ball and Dummy was (literally) an eye-opening experience for the shooters. Errors were identified and corrected. After 4 AQTs we had Nate earn his Rifleman patch with 215; Johnathan requalified and earned distinguished with a 243. EagleKeeper (243) and AnthonyB (239) also requalified in the fine tradition of Tennessee Valley Cadre.

This weekend was one to remember at Mountain Top! There were some very eager and excited shooters joining us. I was very pleased to see the improvement in marksmanship over the course of the weekend. Lots of shooters got close to scoring rifleman, and I am hoping to see them at another event. After all, rifleman persists!
