Although some fairly wet weather was predicted this past weekend it held off for the most part and the wind gave us little trouble at the Somers Sportsman's Association hosted Appleseed.

We had a good mix, some previous AS attendees and some fairly to shiny new shooters on the line with some from other states. Although a smaller group enthusiasm ran high thru the weekend. All in all a great weekend.

The standard POI's were used, getting folks settled with their positions and equipment were foremost on Saturday. Yes, we had a few equipment issues, sight in problems and firearms malfunctions that always seem to happen at a class and never prior to on the range at home. Everyone hung in no matter the problems and came away better for it.

Late Saturday Brandon pounded out a 225, backing it up with a 227 on Sunday, to be our newest Rifleman in Ct. There were steady gains by others with Dan hitting a 206 and Alix in the 180's. Major improvement by all involved.

The shooters were a good and attentative group to work with and the instructor crew had a chance to work with everyone individually both days. It was great to have Edge and Shootr murf assisting both days, their help was invaluable.

A big thank you goes out to the Somers Sportsman's club for use of the facility, the covered firing line was very welcome and the range was especially nice since the addition of a 25M target line. We look forward to future events there.

A Rifleman persists.

We had a great time. We did not sell out but the shooters all braved the lousy weather. Everyone had a great time and we added one new Rifleman. Several were close. A couple Appleseeders battled through some equipment issues and vowed to be back.

I had a good time working the event. Thanks to all who came out and worked and shot.
