Title: Palm Bay Appleseed Dec 6-7
Post by: malabar on December 08, 2014, 11:05:33 AM
Ah winter in Florida! It was supposed to be sunny and clear, and instead was cool and rainy. No matter. We had 22 shooters who mustered on a muddy field in the furtherance of marksmanship and liberty. We had three junior shooters get their first taste of marksmanship, several shooters make the score, and numerous shooters show significant improvement (It was my wife's first shoot and she scored a 183).  One of our new riflemen, er, riflrewomen, fired score from a wheelchair -- a demonstration of the kind of grit that is the true heritage of ALL Americans.  It was an inspiring performance and an inspiring weekend.

Photos to come......

As one of the attendees at the event, it was another great Appleseed weekend.  Thanks Malabar, Bill O Rites, Dennis the Menace, and all the other red hats, orange hats, and blue hats who made the event a success. Awesome time, amazing history refreshers on what was done to grant us the liberty we currently enjoy, great facility, great people.   It was my third Appleseed and the third time was the charm.    Back to work today recruiting for the next one.

A Great Appleseed!  Numerous patriots young and old came out to honor the memory of our Revolutionary War forefathers by practicing that great American tradition of marksmanship.  A tremendous amount of improvement was accomplished by all.

And, there were three new Riflemen revealed:

Jean, Stante, and Cal.

and there was even one ringer (David) who quietly took his spot on the line, quickly re-qualifying to Rifleman standards with not one, but with two separate Marlin tube-fed magazine rifles! David, clearly still is a man who very well knows what he is about, who even reclaimed his dormant Orange Hat!  There were also many shooters who were improving steadily the whole weekend, ending up "on the bubble", scoring just shy of the 210 numerous times.  They will undoubtedly be Riflemen in the very near future!
